Hi guys, what's the best train station to use to get to the shopping centre in Livingston? Know its near the football stadium and its a bit of a trek, so which ones best? Or which one is easier to catch a bus or taxi from to get to the centre, thanks.

Six and half a dozen if your getting a taxi, more frequent trains to Livi North though. Id take a taxi number with you as theres not always one there. I use 01506 444444

Would rather walk than taxi and save some cash as will probably need to taxi back. Livingston north still the best option you think?

Livi south is is closer to the centre to walk, but less frequency of trains as mentioned.
Taxi would prob be a few quid from either tbh, livi north is only about 2-3 miles from the centre, livi south about 1-1.5 miles.
The bus terminal is at the centre, if that's an alternative for you.

Just get a first bus from town. 27 and a 28 go straight into the centre. There will be more.

OK just to clarify. I'm looking to get the bus from either Livingston train station into Livingston town centre/shopping centre. I'm not looking at getting the bus from Edinburgh into Livingston. From what I can gather the 801 stops outside Livingston North but its every hour into Livingston town centre so not ideal. Other buses require about a 10 minute walk from the train station which again isn't ideal given that I don't know the area and quite frankly, can't be arsed. I will just get a taxi back from the centre to the train station but surely it can't be as difficult to get into the shopping centre as makes out

If that weren't a factor, I'd suggested Livingston South regardless, as there's a pretty regular (every 15-20 minutes) bus that goes from South to the Bus Station (Centre). Not sure how much it is these days, as I tend to drive if I'm going to Livingston for anything.Madness, as you know, is a lot like gravity. All it takes is a little push.

Theres been a celtic shop off and on for over 10 years at livi centre, usually in the months leading to Christmas. There’s also been rangers and hearts shops there in the past (both pre administration/liquidation).
Not sure which buses are best mate, but tbh for the very small £ difference you’d be as well getting a taxi. A bus from either station will be at least 20+ minutes from the station, taxi will be around 5 minutes.

Taxi from Livi South to the Centre is about £6. Livi North will be about a quid more.

I think the town referred to in the post you quoted relates to Edinburgh, the buses referred to don't stop at either Livvy train station AFAIK.

Its a fair hike from both train stations. Taxi will be about a fiver. I dont know buses from the stations. Ive walked from livi south and it took about 40 mins, The bus will be about £1.50 each id imagine.
