Did anyone get it in the ballot? All my friends have had emails to say they didn't get it, I've still not heard. When I login it says you're entered in the ballot still.

I thought it might take a few days. Assumed with over 50000 applications you wouldn't find out right away.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I think that's the total number of people in the applications. My application was for 3 people for instance.

I read it was something like 51000 applications.

Scotland can be a beacon, within these islands and beyond, for a socially just and sustainable society. Whilst there are many priorities which will require independence, there is also much that can and must be done now by the Scottish Parliament and the Scottish Government.

Why not just wait and go over in your car? It will be much more civilised and comfortable.

I got accepted + 4. Although our house backs on to the field it's being constructed in so we were told we would get a spot.

    Obviously I'm missing something?

    1) Will you not be able to walk over the bridge any other time like you can with the existing bridge?

    2) Why do 250,000 people want to walk across a bridge?

Probably because they have the opportunity to walk up the middle of the road while crossing over without having to worry about traffic? Once opened there will be no pedestrian walkway - aparently it is classified as part of the motorway

Fair enough...not sure I'm anywhere near getting the excitement to be honest but clearly nearly a quarter of a million folk ken what's going on so who am I to question their logic

+1. Would be more exciting to walk across with traffic, in a will-I-get-to-the-other-side-without-being-run-over/arrested-for-being-a-terrorist? sort of way.

It opens for traffic for 3 days before they close it for the walkers.

Nope. Open the Thursday and Friday, closed Saturday and Sunday, open again on the Monday. Bit nuts if you ask me.
Bet it'll be something to do with them being able to say it opened in August.

The old bridge when fully open was 60.

Was it? I thought it was 50 too or was that a relatively recent change? Presumably the wind break measures and the fact the motorway now starts south of the Forth are the reasons behind the higher speed limit on the new bridge?
