I do not understand why both bridges couldn't have been left fully open for the first six months.
The road network on the north side didn't allow it and with the promise of it being open in August 2017, it wasn't possible.
Someone once told me that hard work wouldn't kill me.

I thought: "Hell, why take the chance"!

It was nose to tail this morning heading south at 6.45am.
They have the technology to build this fantastic bridge but can't impliment a temporary network system for a couple of months till things settle down?

Well that can't be due to bridge visitors at 6.45 am on a monday morning surely?

The 40mph limit - and the distance it lasts for - is completely nuts. Is there some other traffic management issue at work here though?

    It's an oxymoron. "Safety overkill"

Wonder what the reason is for keeping it at 40mph for so long, anyone know? Having it at 70 will definitely improve the situation to some degree.

In other news the suds pond they have built outside my house for the bridge has brought a family of 4 deer to us, see them every morning and night right outside the house when I look out my window.

They'll be safe enough in the traffic as long as their horns work.

Gordon Effin Brown being interviewed about the QC bridge on BBC apparently.
As appropriate and popular a choice the Hearts made today.
    Gordon Brown, FFS.
    Nurse, he's escaped again!

With his financial track record you'd think he'd slither into the background on such matters and say nothing.

On the other hand with him taking the UK headlong into the last crisis he's the most experienced!

I was heading from Newton towards Queensferry early Saturday afternoon. Traffic was tailed back along the Newton road trying to get onto the bridge, not helped by cars coming from the A90 up to the roundabout and back onto the slip road trying to avoid a bit of the queue. It's a shambles.

We went over on Saturday early afternoon too. We did that, over the roundabout and back on, probably saved us about half an hour! Traffic was brutal.

Pity we don't have an other bridge at hand to spread the traffic flow.
