My first Fathers Day this year, and I got what I always wanted - a snuggle from my 2 month old and a good night's sleep last night!
Okay, technically I'm a serial killer...

Like Mothers day and Valentines day just another over hyped day to boost profits for many business's. I don't need a special day in the year to treat my Dad special, I cherish him every day and spend many hours and travel many miles throughout the year to be with him.

I got a card from the cat. Had to act like I didn't think it was ridiculous.

    Exactimondo, SH.
FFS, we've got bosses' day, secretaries' day, teachers' day, etc.
It wouldn't surprise me if Hallmark issued cards trying to promote Dooms Day.

Exactly. My Dad already knows my feelings for him and 1 hyped up day to boost card shop sales means nothing to me.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Fathers Day dates from medieval times I just heard on the radio. So we can boot the hell out of it with our consciences clear.

It may well do but it doesn't alter my view on the commercialisation of it.
