Knowing Hearts they will wait till around tea time tonight before calling it off.
Yep. And play the "we tried so hard" card. I hope the overtime is costing them a fortune.

Having got to early afternoon with it not being called off I suspect they're working through a list of things to do but there isn't anything that will be a showstopper. So on that basis I suspect it'll go ahead.

If there was still a major issue at this stage we'd have heard by now.

I would like to think a representative from the SPFL will be there.

Can guarantee there will not be an apology if it booms!

Health and safety these days I suspect it could be called off for a pretty small reason. Although it would be quite funny if it was delayed again, it's kind of like a bad film dragging on now. meh.

I think we’re giving the Queen of Hearts an uneccesary unfair shake here. Surely this is no different, from say, an inclement weather pitch inspection, which can take place very close to the kick off time? Let us remove Hobo bitterness from the equation and not castigate this magnificent woman who is doing such a fantastic job at Hearts.

Just drove down Mcleod Street 10 minutes ago.

Loads of workmen around and some working frantically around the Roseburn stand entrance/exit.

Small white Council Building Services van parked in the street.

    Moment of reckoning soon.

Hope it is called off as the media now seem to be waking up to the complete shambles Budge has made of this project. They might now get the ripping they deserve.

Her brother isn't the main contractor. I think he only did some of the initial work as well? Perhaps someone better placed can confirm or deny?

If they don't fulfill their fixture, game awarded to jags. End of. And what is Doncaster saying about this?

I don't think Budge's brother has much responsibility in the new stand shambles.

His company was in charge of the works under the Wheatfield Stand and have been pretty much complete for months. ( even allowing for the fact the place only got a temp. occupancy certificate yesterday. - I'd guess that has to do with the extra safety work required around the distillery storage facilities which wasn't his remit. )

The responsibility for the new stand delays are the fault of Hardies as contract managers , BSB as structural steel erectors ( if they fell behind program ) and Clark Contracts whose workforce have been on site doing concrete, brick and blockwork construction.

The Budge brother has only been outfitting and obviously couldn't start until the structure was in place.

Of course, the whole omnishambles started when Mrs Budge and the architect Clydesdale decided to go off half-cocked and start construction work without approved plans or a building warrant.

When this stage is complete and the arguments gets round to who pays for all the extras I can only see this ending up in the Courts.

This thread may have a lot of mileage left in it.

I’ve been reading on Facebook that that entrance wont be used so it doesn’t matter if it looks like a building site.

That contradicts the frantic work currently on that entrance just now. With such tight deadlines they will only be working on areas that need to secure that safety certificate.

    It's also an emergency exit.

Maybe, but it will still have to operate as a safe exit if the stadium is open.

It does when that’s the way the PT will enter the Roseburn

I think they understand exiting the stadium will be more important to the fans.

Their stadium can be accessed all the way round can’t it? They shut off the Wheatfield and Roseburn with a big shutter for derbies but for other games the home fans can get into the roseburn via the Wheatfield turnstiles.

Does the stand only house home fans? If so, let it go ahead and if it isn't safe and a yam is injured it's all on budge and this sham of a council!

Logically, they must be very close to getting a temp certificate , with only remedial work that could be done in the time needing completed. Well that would be the case with any sensible enterprise. The fact it is going to the wire is crazy. I never bet but I think they will be given a certificate and play. Too much pressure on H&S to do so.

It will be hailed as a trumph.

Yeah but don’t imagine they would have the away fans entering from the Wheatfield though

Which reminds me of another feature the yams' new stand has which our East doesn't - reduced prices for people with extraordinarily short legs (say 2 feet) and extraordinarily long upper bodies (say 20). Section T lower. They've thought of everything!
Ultimately if they'd gone for larger panes of glass, with proper curtain, all the same colour... i.e. Transparent. And all the way to the ground level... it would look good.

But they didn't. So it doesn't.

Surely all the materials lying around within the shell are a fire hazard??

Am I right in thinking that a certificate will have to be granted for every game until it’s completion??

I love how getting the certificate will be hailed as such a success, massive congrats etc.... whereas.... the smegging thing is months late and millions over budget... but well done lads for pulling a few night shifts...

  30. #8309
Latest pics from the entrance to away end look typical Hearts - cheap - job half done and cutting corners.

I think it will get the go ahead but Shambles FC will have all this as part of their history for fellow fans to look back on and say what a mess you made trying to build a stand.
