47 days till it's due to open to the public. Decking for upper area - not tier nearly all done. Wonder if they will do lower area then seats or wait till seats arrive then install supports. Would make sense surely to install lower section then seats - but then they may need to go onto the pitch? Anyway - the seats are supposedly due late October which is pretty close to opening game - yams on kickback think they will be quick to install. But as stated previously Budgie will have to make a statement in a couple weeks about progress. Would be hilarious if they said it would be ready in next statement but then there was a delay. Anyway pic below shows the quality of build.... surely there must be some sort of concrete pour over that ?! <img src="http://www.hibs.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=19370"/>
Aye but once completed they need to get a safety certificate??

I am willing to bet they have zero chance of being ready in 47 day. Deduct at least a week or two for council approval and some level of contingency to avoid moving / cancelling a fixture the day before. So reckon they have max 35 days. I reckon they need double that at least.
I reckon they might just get there in time.

Yams on Brokeback seem confident that the lower decking starts next weeks, and seats are due on 28th. They'll have next to no facilities for the first game. Seats, toilets and safe access is all they'll need though and reckon they might just get there, but will need to use Wheatfield for changing rooms, tunnel etc.

Budget over-runs, cost of Murrayfield and lost hospitality revenue (as the stand will only be a shell until next year) + Cathro's pay off will be hurting them though.

Still, at least they've got a League Cup quarter final to look forward to tonight.....

Once "initially complete" I imagine it'll look half decent from the pitch looking to the seats but upon closer inspection the build quality and finish level will be as grubby, slipshod and scabby as one would expect from them.

Once the finishing touches are put on, whenever that happens, I guess it'll be alright and after all it can't be as much of a fire/lung hazard as that asbestos shed they had before so congrats to them on dragging themselves into 2017 in that regard at least.

Nothing, however, can save that exterior "glass wall" (aka loads of windaes) from being an absolute jakey 1970's office building carbuncle and fabulous waste of money.

well there you go - copied from kickback. These guys believe anything

'Lightweight composite staging was required to the upper areas for ease of installation, so that large 'long reach' cranes would not be required to go on the pitch.

Due to the position, there is not a similar problem with the lower sections and cheaper concrete staging can be installed.'

I'm assuming that they have to bulldoze the one on the right to make way for the one on the left.

It will be interesting to see if the stand collapse in Durham has any impact on the safety checks required to open the stand.

    That was a temporary stand.

Then again this one doesn't look like it is built to last either.

It begs the question as to why they cannot play in front of 3 stands if no heavy equipment will be on pitch and thus won't damage it??

Is this a question the SFA/SPFL have asked the yams.

This was always planned imho and it was all about making money. Plain and simple.

They have brought this upon themselves and should never have been allowed to sell more ST's than seating for the 3 remaining stands.

That's nonsense. The weight of the individual concrete units is almost negligible for these machines

Even super massive big ones that Hearts would use?

Hint of sarcasm there ODS. And for the record no FACT... That is what they have built!

For those looking I. You must be so proud!

I'm genuinely stunned. In fact I actually feel sorry for them. That is absolutely God-awful.

Yip but the way they are promoting it would seem like it's the best stand ever built.

If we built a stand like that I'd be totally and utterly embarrassed!

    Our East is far nicer

In my opinion they sold the number of season tickets knowing that the stand would never be finished to add to their case of swapping games and using Murrayfield. All pre-planned and they are taking the spfl for a ride.

    100% agree
Should have made provisions, by capping season ticket numbers until they knew it would be completed on time

Yep, it's always poor wee hearts and they get away with this ****. Then they turn around and tell Aberdeen to bolt when they asked to train on the pitch and nothing is said. When that stand isn't ready enough should be enough, why should they profit for their mistakes? They should be forced to play in front of three stands and use some of the cash they will make playing at a rugby ground to refund supporters who miss out.

Suppose they would argue that the temporary occupation certificate they had to use the facilities under the Wheatfield Stand has expired ( which it has ) so they have nowhere for players to change .

Is it normal to have an away team train on the pitch for a league game?

Is it normal for the home team to have games played at a rugby stadium due to the spfl cutting them slack? Then they are that graciously they tell a member club to bolt. Classy.

Could be coincidence but Budgie was elected on to the SPFL board for season 2017/18. The whole thing stinks.

No, but this was hardly normal circumstances.

Aberdeen have played at Tynecastle loads of times, so the surroundings are familiar enough. When clubs travel for Euro competitions, it's quite common for a request to be granted to play at the stadium, to familarise the team with the new surroundings.

To me, Aberdeen playing at Murrayfield had more in common with the Euro Game scenario, so a request to train there wasn't unreasonable.

Spot on, Aberdeen hasn't played there before wanted a quick training session and were refused. Hearts have been sneaky in everything they have done regarding this stand. The delay is clearly meant they just spout lie after lie after lie. Embarrassing club!

If Aberdeen fancied a session at Murrayfield it should have been the SRU they approached, not Hearts. Hearts don't own the access rights to Murrayfield.
