I think you solved that one.
I completely forgot about the EoS Shield.
(the 3rd oldest football trophy in World Football, don't you know !)

According to Hibernian Historical Trust ,a Shield Final was played at ER in May '66.

    This,courtesy of HHT

The month of May 1966 saw a double meeting take place with Hearts as the 1965 and 1966 East of Scotland Shield Finals were contested on the 4th at Easter Road and the 7th at Tynecastle.

Hearts went into the first game as holders and retained that right in defeating Hibs 3-1 with Joe Davis getting the greens' goal from the spot.

At Tynecastle, the Gorgie side completed a double in winning 4-2 and this time it was Colin Stein and Jim Scott who found the target.

    PS
    Don't tell the jambos.
They will be bragging that they put SEVEN past us in the same week!

Pretty sure the original caption on the ducks photo referred to a derby being played in May 1966, so that matches up with the EoS shield final.

    Top sleuthing, fellow Hibees!
They've only gone and done it! They've only gone and won the Scottish Cup! What kept you, Hibs?!

Leith Athletic and Edinburgh City at different times

    maybe St Bernards as well
    Indeed they did.

Edinburgh City certainly played at Powderhall
Logie Green was the ground St Bernards originally used.
The ground(Logie Green) was paved over to create a car park for Powderhall

Hibernian played hearts there in the Scottish Cup Final 1896

Couple of pics and report on this link

I never competed as the answer seemed to come up in green anyway?
No matter though. I seen the Hibs at most of these places, but regardless of this, what brilliant shots. Makes you weep at the sanitisation of stadiums now. These places were the places football was played, loved and hated in equal measure. Having watched 20mins of unctious spew around Pablo Zabaletta tonight, I know where I'd rather be.

I doubt they can hold a candle to our 10 in a row in that competition
