strange I'm guessing by his own admission then, the championship is his level.

Strange he clearly doesn't have much confidence in his own ability as he keeps leaving promoted teams for championship?? As I don't see Utd negotiating 6 play off matches

Good luck. Decent ability but just not consistent enough to merit a starting slot for us. Wish him well, though.
Hopefully he made this decision knowing that Cummings is staying and we are signing someone like Boyce. Hence it would have been even harder for him to get a place if he had stayed.

Part of the team that won us the cup so his name goes down in history. Not good enough to start consistently for us though. Good luck to him.

He's a decent enough wee player but if we want to be challenging for 2nd or 3rd next season then he aint good enough.
Hope he does well though.

Would have liked him to stay but not to be. All the best for the future Keats will always be welcome back at ER.

He's maybe only been offered a short contract by us and has a longer deal at United?

Good luck if this is true.
He is very decent, great delivery from set pieces and some wonderfully shaped finishes from open play. Like a few on here though I don't feel he contributes enough or is consistent enough for a regular first team start.

He scored 3 goals in 2 starts and then was dropped for the match against St Mirren so he has probably made the right choice in leaving. Sad to see him go though.

Not going to be happy about any of those legends going, and every departure is a sad smack somewhere deep in the gut.
Having acknowledged that as a starting point, we must now try and get realistic and move past it, and look at how we can improve the team. So wishing Keatings all the best at Dundee United and looking forward to Lennon bringing in a better replacement.

My favourite memory of him is when the third goal goes in and he just runs in the opposite direction of the rest of the team to celebrate. Big thanks and best of luck to him.

Tbh I can see his reasons for leaving. He'd be a back up at Hibs and I suspect he won't have got a 2 year deal from us.
Would like to have kept him but he gets my best wishes. Always seemed to enjoy playing for us and gave 100%.

I'd heard he was offereded a 1 year deal better money than he was on but would simply be a squad player.
Really hope he does well, and will always be part of the legends!

Wish him all the best - agreed its probably right for him to be seeking more regular footbal. Will always be a Hibs legend and welcomed back for being part of that SC team

A wee bit sad to see him go but fair enough if he doesn't just want to be a reserve striker.
Cheers for some big goals the last couple of years - and the part in the final. Cup winning legend.

Fwiw I really like Keats he leaves as a cup winning legend and am sad to see him go but he clearly doesn't believe he can fight for a place in the team.

I'm surprised at the timing of this. Would have thought Utd would be waiting to see which division they'd be in before making any signings.
