I'm only waiting for Craig Rocastle for a diagonal on my Hibs transfer targets bingo card.

Not believing anything until the number 26 bus gets a mention and the fans get back.

He was a great player at times in his career and I was really hoping all those years ago we would have taken a punt on him when he was at Rotherham. Theres no reason why he couldn't recapture that sort of form with us up here considering the experience he's picked up in that time. The way the last few years have been for him he maybe would fancy just making one last legacy/impact at a club and he can definitely do that here rather than fade into obscurity in League 1 or lower championship. It all depends on the wages and if he fancies what we can give him.
Put it this way I would rather go out and take a gamble and have him than Brian Graham or James Keating personally.Last edited by Centre Hawf; 01-05-2017 at 05:33 PM.

Hibs perpetual transfer target XI
Old fashioned 2-3-5 (to accommodate those strikers)
Andy Rhodes
David Gray (veteran of dozens of Babylon pun threads before actually signing and going on to become a true legend.)
Steven Hammell
Craig Rocastle
Danny Swanson
Julian Brellier
Leigh Griffiths
Marc Libbra (on a permanent deal this time)
Jose Antonio Reyes
Jordi Cruyff
Adam Le Fondre
On the bench - everyone who has ever played for the club previously, somehow giving rise to the "could ........ still do a job for us?" threads.
An ambitious formation. A right back, a left back, no centre backs, 2 defensive midfielders and a whole load of attackers. It's the opposite of the squad that Pat Fenlon put together in our relegation year but roughly as balanced.
A special mention for Liam Henderson, who I suspect will be permanently linked with us over the remainder of his career, wherever that career delivers him to, thus overtaking Griffiths as our all-time most linked to player.Last edited by Smartie; 01-05-2017 at 06:43 PM.

By the way the Reyes rumour that gets brought out all the time as a bit fanciful was a joke at the time. It wasn't an actual rumour that was a bit ambitious. It was a piss take in response to some of the names Hearts were linking themselves with.

Peter Hetherston in a swap deal for Danny Lennon.
That was one from 'my day'...
Who was the ex-England boy we almost went for (apparently) earlier this year?
And, don't shoot me, but I seem to remember some people thinking we were in with an ICT player called Ian Black...

David Platt, John Toshack, Paul Walsh & even further back, Billy Bremner [wouldn't raise our 25K offer to 30K], Peter Lorimer plus 150K allegedly turned down by Hibs for Peter Cormack. A couple of years later [April 1970], we got 80K from Forest & we paid out more than half of that for Jim Blair, a season later we sold him back to ST Mirren for 18K. Jamie Doyle of Thistle done the rounds for several seasons, as did a young Sandy Clarke.
