Italian guy. Bergami (or something along the lines)
Qualifies as holders for 86 & hosts for 90 & was a late call up for the 2 others he played in.

I think the following is accurate:

Signed from the Juniors by Ferguson for St Mirren
Transferred to Rangers playing regularly till Souness came with his big-named signings
Signed again for Ferguson at Aberdeen
    Signed for Hibs

In his fifties and still playing in charity games - still very fit.
Remember his debut at Falkirk iirc he,mitchell and McIntyre played and he scored a cracking goal. Very good player who was unlucky with injuries and was at Aberdeen when they had their best ever side. Great passer and clever player.

He was man of the match in the European Cup Winners Cup semi final and missed the final v. Real Madrid through injury. Confirms your description of his quality and Aberdeen's at that time.

Rangers seemed to ruin him as a player. I remember seeing him in the Malletsheugh in Newton Mearns one Sunday night during his Ibrox period (I had a pal that had moved through there) and he was one seriously unhappy chap.

He was still pretty skillful at Hibs. He had great close control and nobody could get the ball off him. Unfortunately for us he spent most of the time dribbling the ball back and forward along the half way line.

It is possible that the very night you refer to at the Malletsheugh was shortly after Souness arrived at Ibrox and instigated his slightly unethical recruitment policy. Dougie Bell maybe didn't suit his style of play.

Only three of the four of last weeks semi finaists existed when Dougie Bell was playing..............

It is possible as it was a sunny evening (late summertime IIRC). His face was definitely tripping him though - more than that I can't remember - we're speaking about 30 years ago.

Who played for 3 out of 4 of last week's semi-finalists and was signed twice by Alex Ferguson?
I can't be the only one who thought you meant players who played at the weekend

That's an absolute ripper of a question.

Time to ruin my mates with it. They're still trying to get the "who was the first player to play for England having never played in that domestic league" question I asked them months ago.

What player scored the most goals against Rangers during the Graeme Souness era?

An oldie and probably quite a well known quiz question but thought I'd ask it nonetheless.

No he certainly never played for City or United.

He didn't play for Newcastle or Sunderland but he did turn out for Middlesbrough and Hull as well as Liverpool, Everton, Spurs and Leeds.
