Even if they had a falling out, I dont think Lennon could just 'stay away'

Reading some posts my point is this. Do people seriously think Lennon won't sign strikers?! I'll say it again, I'd rather be patient and get the right player than use the scatter gun approach and sign any random! Stockton anyone? Would you be happy with that? Lafferty may be a good signing but would you want a welt like him disrupting our fantastic player bond Stubbs and Lennon worked so hard to create. No. I trust Lennon to add not just quality players but ones who have the attitude and personality to fit into this current squad. That should never be underestimated. Chill out... Signings are on there way.

Slightly off topic I know, but has there been any updates on our injured trio, Hanlon , McGeough, and Fonts ?

Ooooooooooooooo........ The main story on the Sun's back page is embargoed until later. Only one story would be big enough to justify this........

Marciano - Get him back
Maclean - Whittaker?
Fyvie - Henderson?
Keatings - Murray
Shinnie - Swanson
Harris - Pennant?
Holt - Ciftci?
Cummings - Moult?
not disagreeing that we need to be signing players but i would rather we got the best available for our budget and i would rather take the time needed to do that than chuck £5k a week at Kyle f***ing Lafferty just because the fans are impatient.

Our two rivals have their first choice strikers sorted out now.
Aberdeen: Rooney/Stewart
Hearts: Lafferty/Goncalves
Hibs: ?
Up to us to get ours over the line. I trust in Dempster/Lennon to get it done.

Not a chance will we get Moult.
Ciftci? Probably if we were interested although he hasn't done much in years.

Starting to feel a bit like last season waiting for the striker and it going on for months. The longer it went on the more some panicked and the more others thought it would be an exceptional striker because we had taken our time and not rushed anything. Turned out to be Brian Graham we had been waiting on.
Now, the aim was promotion and that was achieved so I'm not overly fussed now. Just wary of a repeat anti-climax

Then I remind myself it's not even July yet and we'll be fine.

I'll be honest, I always felt Stubbs' recruitment was better than Lennon's.
If you take Ambrose out the picture (who is a top signing but worked with Lennon before) I'm not sure I like how Hibs recruitment is going. We've gone from having a clear philosophy of signing young players with potential to grow and sell on, to now what appears to be signing older players who may or may not 'do a job'. Whilst there is room for some of these players in the squad, I can't say I'm excited by them being our main transfer links all summer. Whilst Aberdeen (the actual 2nd best team in the country) are replacing good players they lost with good players.
That said, the club may well be working to bring in the previous type of player, I just feel the lack of links is a little bit concerning at this point.

I'm leaving this forum for a few days. It's depressing.

We just got 1millon odd for jc .... im going to be very disheartened if we dont spend money on a decent striker.....it seems that whenever we sell players the moneys never put back into the team

It's not about the transfer fees as such these days, it's the wages. Spending a good bit of the JC transfer will only get us a player who's wages we can't afford which is why we won't splash a lot of money on any signings as a fee, the money will go to players who are probably going to cost us nothing in fees but demand a decent wage
