Worth raiding the currant buns for any of these guys?

Mentioned before that I thought Harry Forrester seemed a decent player and Michael O'Halloran did the damage for St. Johnstone in this league.

Forrester contracted to 2019 and O'Halloran to 2020 so fees would be involved unless they do like they did with big Daz.

St. J want O'Halloran on loan but I'd give them £100k for him. Would add to our already pacy frontline.

I've never seen O'Halloran look anything other than rank rotten.

And I certainly wouldn't pay a fee for him.

Saw that Ciftci had been told to find a new club by Celtic, rather him than Lafferty.

Fair enough, I've not seen that much of MO'H but heard good things on The Terrace pod and he must've done something for Wright to want him back and to demand the fee that they got.

Ciftci another interesting one. I personally think there's nothing wrong with checking with players that formally did a great job in the SPL but now don't get a look in. Wages will be high but if they are willing to take a cut to play football rather than rot away then it's worth looking into.

Guys like the aforementioned and Henderson, Stokes, Commons, Christie, Allan, Izaguirre, McGeouch and even those that went to England and struggle to make the bench.

I remember Ciftci ripped us a new one the season we were relegated, but that was three seasons ago. Will he still be a good player after three seasons of warming the bench for the bench at Celtic?

    Absolutely

Where are we getting £10m from?

  12. #1511
Not seen much of him but joe dodoo looked like he has potential.

Don't think it would matter on any of them no danger they will let player under contract leave to us for free or cheap ever again. Guaranteed if we enquired the price would be treble at least compared to other teams.

Shows how bad press are here. 6 million bassed on a friendly game and club he plays for. Hell sign deal as cant see anyone paying for him and its sign or rot offer from rangers looks like.

Jermaine Pennant doing the rounds? He's training with us again by the looks of it...

I've a hunch this'll happen this time. Perhaps wasn't overly thrilled about the Championship when we were linked in January. Given we're in the Premiership now and the feel good factor, he may of had a change of heart.

Or we may just be his last option and he's not too bothered?..

Other teams are starting to do business, or at least have tangible rumours going about...tbh I'm even more concerned now with Jermaine Pennant training with us...

He could be a good signing for experience etc. but age is really not on his side especially considering the position he plays.

    Hopefully things pick up shortly!

Over reacting or not I am now starting to get a bit worried.

not because of the time etc but the fact that near enough every player we get linked with is 32+ and is coming towards the end of their career.

im only 23 and can only speak on what I have seen, but for me the best hibs sides/players is a young team full of energy, quality and a bit of swagger. When we start signing the guys we get linked with it never goes too well.

i appreciate for years we needed a bit of experience but is that what pennant would give? Great player in his time however I would question his motive for coming here. How interested would he be?

I'm 34 and the best Hibs team I've seen was one that included Sauzee, Latapy, Mixu, Zittelli etc. Obviously I'm not saying we will get a Sauzee but people focus too much on age. If a player is good enough at 33-34 then I'd rather we brought them in and not hold their age against them.

Seems like we are destined for another week of nothing rumours...the big summer has been a big letdown so far - please Hibs give us some good positive signing news soon

Had any of those players had only 48 games in 4 years previous to signing for Hibs?

I will disagree..... Signing Efe and Swanson along with a number of others who were out of contract!

And in better leagues than the Singapore league or league 1.
I don't think this will come to anything but I am concerned we are even considering it.
