    Presumably from Fiorentina!

Back to Sercombe. I wonder if the rumour about Maguire started when someone heard that we were looking at an Oxford player and assumed it had to be a Scot.
Mature, sensible signature required for responsible position. Good prospects for the right candidate. Apply within.

Lets ask Chic "Zapruder" Young, he knows and sees everything.

I thought the Maguire thing might have come from that Hibs Rumours site that I was looking at the other day and started a thread about, there was mention of it there, so there's every chance that it's a load of pish.

Their owner seems to fair enjoy chucking the cash about. Certainly can't be funded by their attendances or season ticket sales. Although also looks like Hayes is a Celtc target.

Surely not, Celtic weakening another Scottish team by signing their (arguably) best player.

Like Hibs did to St Johnstone?

Maybe he's talking about Liam Craig? Not sure if he was really their best player at the time though.

  13. #912
I bet they get him for peanuts as well. For his performances, i'd be demanding £3M.

I've no idea, was Stevie May not with them when we signed Craig ? He was certainly a far better player. And a big difference between us signing the odd player from our competitors than what Celtic (and previously Rangers) have continually done. They may have stopped doing so recently but to then have the cheek about not getting any decent competition in Scotland when as soon as another team started to get a decent side together they would go out and sign their best players.

The biggest thing for me is that Hayes could go to Aberdeen, and Jack looks like he'd heading to the huns.

That's 2 top performers for the sheep gone. Good for us but is that good for Scottish football? Absolutely not. And watch the media keep quiet about it because all that matters is getting the old firm at the top of the food chain.

    Disgusting

Yep, totally agree. But nowadays I don't think Rangers/Sevco have nearly the pulling power they had before. That's just my opinion though.

Lennon was at Parkhead today for the Legends match.

Wonder if he's tapped up Commons, Larsson and Tosh McKinlay

I think you are right to the extent that I think Jack is being badly advised.
He should either be staying at Aberdeen for a further season or going down south.
It will be another season before any blue sky emerges above Ibroke.

Not sure this link is working but I agree very much with Kevin Thomson here in that we should not just be looking at old pros and going for the Allan and GMS types too to build and strengthen long term.

Looked like Rodgers was trying to sign him after the final whistle at Hampden - footage shows him going up to him and chatting with him in a close manner.

Folk on the Dundee United vs Hamilton thread were saying they wanted Hamilton to stay up as Dundee United would be a bigger threat to us next season. Not sure I agree with that anyway but it was clear that Hibs were their priority (understandably so) and more competition was to be discouraged.

Celtic are doing exactly the same thing if they are going after Hayes and although I don't like it, we are in a sport where winning is now everything and clubs will do whatever they can to gain an advantage.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that they know each other from their time at Reading.

Re Hayes to Septic, bigger club sign smaller clubs best player! Non story, happens everywhere, that's football, that's business. If we had a cash injection I would want us to sign Hayes from the Dons

I'm getting a bit forgetful but I'm sure I remember watching us beat celtc at Easter road when they had at least four ex Hibs players on at the end. Maybe the squiggler game??

I think we should be looking at any players that will improve us.

His comment about Stokes is a bit daft. We wouldn't be signing Stokes to make a profit on selling him, we'd be signing him to score goals and help win games.

A guess: Brown, Stokes, Caldwell, Riordan?

Were Stokes and Riordan ever in same Celtic team? I thought Derek left before Stokes arrived.

Edit - just checked, squiggler was 2008 so before Stokes came to us and Derek was in our team. Celtic had 3 ex Hibees, Brown, Caldwell and Hartley (but I'd say he doesn't count for this discussion).
