Maybe Hanlon's injury is worse than first thought.

It'll be a 1 year deal as he needs another year for his UK residency.

Jamie Maclaren from Oz is a name I heard today.........apparently a striker.

Any of our southern hemisphere Hibees know how good the lad is ?

  4. #393
    Better than Patrick Bamford.

I'd definitely take him for a season.

Not sure of the standard of Australia's A-League (or Brisbane Roar) but 40 goals in 53 appearances sounds pretty impressive

There's loads of clips of him on youtube. Looks quite a good young player, not sure what he'd cost pricewise and what the quality of the Australian league is, but he certainly knows where the back of the net is.

Indeed. Hanlon seems to have no idea when he will be back.

If we can get him in for six months and see from there surely that's better than not having him?
This. 6 months of Efe is better than 0 months of Efe.

I was watching a BR game a couple of weeks back, finished 4-3 I think and the commentators were saying he was looking for a move to Europe. Looked not bad from what I saw. Although the Aleague defending is not exactly the strongest

I watch the A-League regularly and while there are a lot of good players who have played at a higher level than the SPL I think the standard overall is on a par if not slightly lower than the SPL. Not seen much of this guy tbf but his goal scorer record is impressive.

I'd be absolutely delighted if we secured him on a perm deal..even another year long loan would be decent...best keeper in years

Totally. Huge reason we had so many clean sheets, crucial saves at times, great with his feet and good with crosses. Best in a good while.

Also, from far away he looks a bit like Buffon.

Good source mate? Sounds like a promising player!

  24. #413
The boy Maclaren sounds very promising and his goal scoring record is outstanding.

This is the sort of player I like to see us linked with, young with potential and unknown.

Hopefully there is something in it.

Sorry mate, no, was just a name mentioned to me by another supporter - I know very little about football across there hence maybe some of the .netters across there might verify if they've heard we are keen.

Del Piero used to play in the A league so hopefully he is as good as him.

Maclaren is out of contract with Brisbane Roar by the looks of it. He shouldn't be short of options going by his goal return though.

  28. #417
I reckon Ambrose has lined up a move to the Chinese league for next season (season is March to November), 6 month deal would take him to a month before.

  29. #418
Lewis Vaughn touting himself in the Scotsman. Worth taking?

  30. #419
Stokes just waiting for agreement from Englandshire and he will be here.
    Patience.
    Please don't ask source.

can see that paving the way to Hibs accepting a reasonable offer for JC. 2.5mln would be my guess
