    Would be funny though

Did a great job at St Johnstone. Wonder where it went wrong. Remember his Saints side battering us in a league cup semi final we somehow won.

I liked Coyle as a player and he did well when he managed St Johnstone.
I wouldn't write him off. Many managers have had their ups & downs however, they can get it right now & then.

Pity. Was appreciating his neglect of stokes and the good chance of us getting him back.

I used to go and see Wigan on a regular basis around the time he was appointed, and although they werent perfect under Martinez, Coyle seemed to transform them into a complete shambles almost overnight. The last time he really showed anything was with Burnley, which was over 7 years ago! I think hes a poor manager.

Will probably get the Preston job soon. It must be the only club in the North West he's not had outwith of the Manchester and Liverpool clubs ;)

Took in £10m in transfer fees in the summer and got to spend £250k no wonder they are struggling. I don't blame him as BR are in a terrible mess because of the way owners run the club

Apparently the owners have taken £30 Mill out of the club and he has had very little to spend on players.
That is one really tough league and you need to spend money to do well! Hard to judge him on this.

He continues to take the wrong jobs and to be honest doesn't seem to be the full shilling!

He had a wee bit success at Burnley but hasn't shown he's learnt by his mistakes, good mangers learn and adapt.

Owen Coyle was a good player. I always hoped he'd come to us. Wouldn't want him as manager though!

Managerial career seems to have hit the skids big time after some heady heights but hard to guage when you've managed a club like Blackburn who are a mess.

Years ago when McLeish was manager I was in ER for a tour with a community group I was working for at the time. Paul Holsgrove had just signed and was getting his picture taken by press in the stand (quite apt really...) I was informed by a club official that Owen Coyle would be signing for us in the next couple of days... Can't remember who he was with at the time..

I don't really rate Owen Coyle as a manager but can't judge him on this job as Blackburn are an absolute shambles. Tony Mowbray has a heck of a task on his hands trying to keep them up.

I rated Coyle back in 2009, he had a good couple of years at St Johnstone and worked miracles at Burnley, he should probably have taken the Celtic job back then but fancied the EPL, doubt he'll ever get close to that one again.

Went fi Motherwell to Dunfermline round about the time we got Holsgrove IIRC. Good signing for Dunfy all told.
