That mob are the reason I am the Hibee I am today ... i grew up watching them ... I know the young uns amongst us have there favourites but do you think any other of the modern mob would have you turning up at ER to play ANY team in Europe and you expect to win?

Well if you ever saw this team play then that's what you felt ....

Easy one for me. Even though the Cup Final winners will become lauded by many in years to come, this TT team, as a whole, without shadow of a doubt were the best I've seen.

Of the 22 games from the ones I witnessed favorite three are:

    3. First half New Year's game at Tynie 5-0 (7-0)
    2. Second half down the slope v Sporting Lisbon 5-0 (6-1)
    1. Second half 1972 LCF 2-1 (2-1)

Any team with Derek Riordan in it.. I never saw the famous five so can't add any them, But i did see a die hard hibs fan score over a 100 goals for hibs with both feet and some absolute screamers in their too !

The other 10 i'm no really fussed but Derek Riordan in my life time is the best player i have seen in the flesh.

    Yes.

I liked him. He spent over ten years with us and always worked his socks off. May not have been the best ever right back but was an integral part of Hibernian throughout the eighties.

Following the thread on best Hibs players (Hibs fans) what about the best Hibs team with players you watched. I didn't see the famous five so here goes? I have named two teams as there are so many I've enjoyed watching. First team in 433 formation

    Goram

    Brownlie. Sauzee. Macnamee. Murphy

    Willie Hamilton. Stanton. Cropley

    Cormack. Baker. Martin

    2nd team 442

    Rough

    Bremner. Blackely. Black Shaedler

    Edwards. Brown. Collins. Stevenson

    McBride (snr). Gordon

Sure I have left out many other greats.

Definitely the best team that played together but if I have to choose my own line up I'd replace Herriott, Shades & Cilla with Goram, Murphy and Sauzee.

Tried to name a bench but got stuck on 10 players and gave up
Murphy was a great player but in my humble opinion Shades was fitter stronger and faster

Indeed. And to think we signed him from Barcelona!! He was originally signed to replace Maradona. Couple of years later he is up front with Gareth Evans lol.
