It's a friendly abroad, why would you behave like that?!

    Horrible, horrible creatures!!
Hun I know justified it on Facebook with, and I quote:

'Singing a song about Germans, are Germans offended? No, but Scottish taigs who think there (sic) Irish are'

    Followed up by:

'Lost the battel (sic) but win the war(s)'.

Despicable bunch of people. I wonder who will get the blame this time, hibs fans? chelsea fans? They love playing the victim card so no doubt they'll come up with something, no way was it the fault of poor old rangers!

    ****ing embarrassment.

This thread on Bears Den forum shows they're not a happy bunch and I don't think it's just to do with today's result. The realisation that they can no longer shell out millions is hurting them bad.
The one highlight is where they try to value current players to sell on and have funds reinvested - You can have Barry Mackay for £5-6million apparently. Yer havin a giraffe.

Also not a lot of confidence in MW and how he will take them forward.

    It's all so very pleasing.

Bigotry is ingrained into the club, it is so prevalent that it is now normalised and i'm not just talking about on the terraces. Videos that emerged in that documentary last year of Butcher, Souness etc jumping about singing hello hello in the dressing room after winning the league etc.

The club and their absolutely deplorable fans live in the dark ages. They're an embarrassment not just to scottish football but to Scotland as a nation. Scotland is a nation that prides itself on its tolerance and modern thinking but these cretins are determined to stir as much hate as possible and bring up conflicts that should be consigned to history.

There disturbing obsession with child sex abuse and peados is also pretty grim. The amount of rangers fans i've seen on twitter that get into debates and resort to those sorts of insults to point score. You only have to look at the rangers fans on twitter to find out all you need to know about them. Hogmany was unreal, there was threats to rape Griffths kids, abuse towards Jay Beatty (a disabled child ffs!), threats of violence towards celtic players kids etc. They really showed their true colours.

Rangers as a club have always been dispicable but IMO the newco are worse. They are deeply bitter and even more hate filled because of what happened to them (they still believe poor wee rangers were picked on). They have a massive chip on their shoulder, they cannot get their tiny narrow minds around why people dislike them.

while we have 'comedy' programmes(only an excuse) that think it's funny having sketches laughing about 'hello hello we are the billy boys' and to appease the other side of the coin 'boys of the old brigade' as seemingly laughable topics, then sectarianism/ bigotry is seen as acceptable, ah mean, it's only glesca banter eh..to some anyway

No neither do I which just shows how normalised and ingrained bigotry is at the club, that folk just get caught up in it. Butcher said in the documentary how easy it was to get involved with when at rangers and t was only afterwards looking back that he thought wtf was I doing.

Yep he openly admitted regretting getting caught up in the sectarianism that is ingrained at the huns. The thing is it's expected of their employees to join in. I would like to hear how Jon Daly got on when he was there. Probably sent to train on his own .

and the view from our German hosts

    Football
in Leipzig are the Scots los

It's not about winning. It's about being there again - in the first Scottish league and a game on the European mainland. Thousands of fans of the Glasgow Rangers have populated the Leipzig city center in the morning and made a good mood.

Where can you find the fans of a Scottish football club in the morning at 11am before the game? In the pub! In a bar in the barefoot street, right next to the market square, is sung loudly and drunk until the night. Most of the animated fans are male, sitting at a table in the corner but also a few women. Including Janet Parvis and Nicolle Horne. They came to Leipzig with family and friends.Much seen of the city they did not. They are not the only ones.

For years the Glasgow Rangers from Scotland have not played on the European mainland anymore.
    So 15:01.15:55 pm12:17 min

    It's not about winning

Wilf Marshall and Martyn Smith are thrilled to have their team back in the Scottish league.Image rights: Lily Meyer

Most of the Scots are now not as tourists, but as football fans in the city, explains Wilf Marshall. The 48-year-old is very happy that his team has finally returned to a game on the European mainland and hopes that it will not remain in the next season not only with friendships. How the game against RB Leipzig goes out, most fans does not care. With a victory count the few.

    Finally the first league

Because the few open bars at the market square are now completely overfilled, other fans of the Glasgow Rangers have simply brought their beer with them. Crate For the Scots have not only thirst, but also reason to celebrate - After bankruptcy and forcibly descended into the fourth league, the club after five years again - played in the first Scottish league. There are "The Gers" in second place. Right behind their arch rivals, the Celtic FC.

    "We are the people"

Shortly before 2 pm, the train moves from thousands of Scottish fans towards the stadium. Accompanied by a police escort and fan chanting. The motto of the Glasgow Rangers, by the way, fits excellently to Leipzig: "We are the people" - "We are the people".
In the stadium, the party went on: "The Rangers fan, who crashed into the interior after a hand-held handrail attempt, was only slightly injured," RB Leipzig tapped just a few minutes before kick-off.

But he IS an arrogant, incompetent, rude blowhard who, despite having left a trail of wreckage behind him in his managerial career, still gets the occasional gig as an "expert" commentator on Radio 5 Live. The very mention of his name makes my blood boil.

Only they, with their much vaunted friendship with Hamburg, would sing the German Bomber song with no hint of irony.

Singing anti German songs? How dare they defame their own monarch, Queen Elizabeth of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.

A wise man once referred to Rangers fans as "a permanent embarrassment and occasional disgrace"

    Nuff said!

I was out watching a Sunday League game this afternoon when i overheard a conversation from a group of substitutes from one of the teams. the conversation went as follows.
"See the taigs are jumping on the bandwagon about us singing 10 German bombers over in Leipzig." " Personally i am proud we shot down the German bombers, at the end of the day it was us or them."
Its very difficult to pick any one word to accurately describe these people, but i will go with cretins.

Actually I recall remarking at the time of watching that programme that Souness was having no part in it - truth be told I think he saw the sectarian baggage that went with Rangers as a distraction. Not his biggest fan but he had balls to challenge the prejudice by signing Johnston.

With the internet giving you access to the culture of the world, there is very little excuse to be a bigot.

Huns are almost willfully stupid. It really is hard to meet one who isn't a total ********. As a club it has to stay to reasonably ugly in order to continue to attract the ugly people that civilized society wouldn't so much reject, but would certainly make feel a little awkward and self-conscious. So it functions as a support society for the utterly useless loser.

I can't hate or even dislike them. It's more a kind of sad pity I feel.

I just wish some of them would try a little harder.
