The Rangers fan jailed after THAT win

Oh no surely that can't be right? There must be some mistake as I thought the rangers fans showed "great restraint" and were all heroes that day?

Currently serving a jail term in NI for something different.

West of Scotland FC / Scottish cup supporters ersehole there's no way a fan of the the's would ever be linked to atrocities like this by the media or police Glasgow

Shocking behaviour - has Andy Walker come out and stated "this is a national disgrace". Copied below is the report in the Daily Ranger - feel dirty just clicking on the link, so copied below to prevent others feeling the same.
Darren McDonald, 40, travelled from Ballymena, County Antrim, to support his team when he was caught on camera after the match.
He was named and pictured in the media after the game that saw Hibs beat Rangers 3-2 on May 21.
At Glasgow Sheriff Court he pled guilty to running on to the pitch after the final whistle and kicking the man on the head or body.
Sheriff Stuart Reid handed McDonald jail time and a three-and-a-half-year football banning order.
McDonald is currently serving a sentence in Northern Ireland and the latest jail term is to start after that finishes.
Footage from the match was played to the court and newspaper articles from the time that reported the incident with McDonald were brought to the sheriff’s attention.
McDonald was seen wearing a pink T-shirt and has distinctive tattoos.
The unknown Hibs fan was lying on the grass, having been assaulted by someone else.
McDonald ran over to him and pulled his right leg back to kick him but slipped and fell backwards.
The court heard that the momentum meant his leg made accidental contact with the Hibs fan’s head or body.
He then got up and ran off, leaving the Hibs supporter on the ground.

Yet another underhand effort by the medja at moulding the news.
Update: I see this very point has been raised on another thread.Last edited by snooky; 14-01-2017 at 09:48 AM.

Looks to me like his big external nappy must have played a part in his fall.
At least the media aren't able to spin this one as being a west of Scotland football supporter or Scottish cup supporter. If it looks like a hun and smells like a hun it's a hun.

Looks like a two footed tackle to me. Surely a red card would have sufficed?
Nice arm tattoo.

Revealing that nowhere in the report can the Record bring itself to use the phrase "Rangers supporter".Hope the new columnist ,a certain Ms Sturgeon , has higher standards.

If he hadn't, he could have caused a lot of damage to the man on the ground! Really sick.

Jail time?
Find it strange that the report doesn't mention how long he's spending behind bars. Hope it's longer than a couple of weeks.

Nice pink T shirt though or do these colours run and it was actually a white England one that got mixed up with the underwear in the wash?

It just goes to show how quickly things can change in football. At 4.35 on that sunny saturday afternoon Darren McDonald was anticpating celebrating a first Scottish cup win since the old rangers were liquidated. He was possibly singing songs about Alan Stubbs and perhaps one or two about an ancient battle near a river in Leinster. He could well have been doing "the bouncy". Darren McDonald was happy.
By 4.55 rangers were beaten, the Hibs had won the cup and Darren McDonald had just bought himself jail time for an assault on the pitch, caught on camera and watched by a live TV audience. It's a funny old game eh DazzlerLast edited by Mr White; 15-01-2017 at 12:37 PM.

Kicking a man whos on the deck. He must have been defending a rangers player being attacked eh
The Rangers victim tale unravels even further.

Lots on social media saying many arrests of The Rangers fans in Berlin for their 'friendly', then singing war songs - wonder if the journos will be 'outraged' ? Wonder if they'll be an enquiry given their previous abroad ? Will Jim T release statements..........
Tongue firmly in cheek with lashings of sarcasm !
