Amended. I actually meant to do so when I posted the link but I must have spaced it, I'll blame the tiredness!

Really strange story, with Trump of course responding with a caps locked Twitter rant.

Day one of Trump presidency, Russian ambassador to Washington walks into the oval office drops a package on the desk. What's this asks Trump?
A video of you getting two hookers to piss on each other in Moscow.
    Ah
    Another package hits the desk
    What's this? Asks Trump
    Your foreign policy, any questions?
    No

Crazy nonsense, even by the crazed nonsensical standards of the last twelve months.
He's actually going to war with the CIA. Which does not bode well for his long term future.
I liked the bbc's 'stream of leaks' news ticker

"LÜGENPRESSE". The fact he's openly blanking those news agencies that are not pro Trump is very concerning.

I watched the news conference live. Totally mental. I honestly can't see him lasting long as President especially if he keeps up his war on the security services. He actually speaks like he tweets. Very bad 😉

So catching up on today's shenanigans.....

Trump in the past, paraphrasing a bit.. .... "Of course fake news is fine! You just need to have the intelligence to know it's fake, Hilary's guys might have been running a peodophile ring from a restaurant, you just never know!"

Trump today.... "Fake news is very, very bad... ESPECIALLY if it's about me!"

    That sorta cover it?

None of this should surprise anyone. Trump has always been a supporter of trickle down economics.

. Oor Donald is driving over a cliff.
My concern is hearing the BBC report about the Brit agent who is supposed to have leaked the story. Normally I would have taken the report as the truth however, given their previous on leak stories, I find myself not believing either them or Trumpton.

Trump has tweeted that James Clapper had called him to say that the story about the Russian dossier was fake & untrue.

Now, I'm no Albert Einstein but, if I hadn't done something I don't think I would need someone else to tell me that they'd looked into it and can confirm to me that I hadn't done it.

Whereas back in the real world Clapper has said the intelligence community had made no judgement on the reliability of the claims. Some reports today that there is a second source.

There should also be some compulsion on Trump to release his tax returns and confirm his debts around the globe. Which whilst not quite so lurid or entertaining are equally still a major conflict for the POTUS

I can see him resigning within his first year of office.

That would put Pence in charge which wouldn't be much better.

I do see some parallels with Watergate back in the 1970s.

What appeared to be a straightforward felony of a break in at Democratic premises then became a series of denials as to how far up the White House chain it was triggered from. Kept going up a level with denials by the next level up, but eventually all proven to be lies and it came from “Tricky Dicky” himself and he was impeached.

Politicians never seem to learn that it might be better coming clean at outset, the slow trickle of revelations is often more harmful. But when you have a man like Trump with his ego and personality challenges then you can't expect anything else.

If/when all is revealed, if it is proven that he knew of foreign influences in the election process, it might not just be impeachment with the VP taking over, but a rerun of the election, this time each party can maybe put up an acceptable candidate?

Unfortunately there are tens of millions of angry wee men over the pond who would cry Revolution if they saw Trump as being shafted. I know a couple.

The best scenario is for him to publicly make a mess of things in office and become an embarrassment to the alt right instead of a martyr.

I came across this 'comedy 'programme from 2011, just befor he attempted to stand for the presidency first time round. Probably old hat but first time I've seen it. It was embarrassing to watch it, him sitting there, centre stage, while a host of celebrities and comedians ripped him apart with bad jokes and personal insults, which he was guffawing at and lapping up. A lot of the personal filth, directed at them was lapped up by his wife and daughter sitting in the audience. I'm no prude or shrinking violet, but a country which broadcasts nonsense like that deserves the creature as their president. Review of the show -

Interesting article. Many a true word is said in jest.
That said, not many of those quips -if any- are remotely funny.

Brilliant from the German DR in the face of Trumps attempt to destabilise German car makers. Q-'What can US car makers do to get better access to the German market? A-'Build better cars'.
