Just what did he say to Warburton to get him out of his contract?

Not 💯% if true. Apparently he was told he was surplus to requirements. He wasn't allowed to come to us as we were league rivals at that point. However he told them he was going to St Johnstone and was freed only to sign for us.

Not sure how true is it but I heard Warburton told McGregor he wouldn't be getting a game under his management
Killie were interested and that's where the Rangers thought he was going so they released him
Oops
No idea if it's true but it sounds good!
They would kill for a player of McGregors quality now
Releasing their player of the year - big mistake

I really don't know why people are doubting Warburtons judgement.
That boy might have let Stokes waltz through after a few minutes but his game will develop in time once a sweeper keeper is identified.
They'll succeed playing the game the correct way without brutes like McGregor.

I find it hard to believe that he told them he was going elsewhere then signed for us. They would have just "sold him" for no fee to make sure they had control to make sure he never came here. What an unbelievable defender he is though.

Sure I remember reading something that said he wasn't any good with the ball at his feet therefore didn't fit into Warburtons style of playing it out from the back on the deck. What does Warburtons know, absolutely nothing!!!
Absolutely fantastic defender, 100% into every game and every tackle.
Without doubt a future club Captain.

Rangers player of the Year then following season, Warburtons doesn't think he is any good. The song we sing could not be more accurate description of the Rangers manager.

Darren McGregor or Rob Kiernan? Tough choice for the breadman to make right enough. His eye for a defender shone through there.

Interesting reading Rangers fans comments when he left, they really really did not want him to sign for us, with there player of the year still having 1 year left on his contract, why did they not sell him for a fee, even if he wasn't part of Warburtons plans.

McGregor has been simply outstanding this season and the main reason for Hibs great defensive record.
Candidate for Championship player of the season.

Was a very bizarre move telling your player of the season he was no longer needed

Warburton seemed very quick to bin Darren, even if you intend to have ball playing centre halfs the first thing they need to be able to do is defend and that's certainly something McGregor is very good at, I doubt the current crop at Ipox can say the same.
The Tavernier situation is an interesting one, he is very good coming forward no doubt ..... but after watching Stokes rip him a new one time and again in the cup final any Premiership manager worth his salt should stick a winger on his side of the park.

There's a rumour that Chuck Norris wears a Darren McGregor T-shirt.

Our best defender in 2016, u have to go back almost a year to his last (serious) mistake against Morton at home 3-0, at least I think it was him.

The guy is unbelievable. St Mirren's player of the year, moves to Rangers and is player of the year and is my Hibs player of this season so far, by some distance.
Warburton getting rid of him without giving him a chance, to then sign Kiernan, Senderos and Hill is hilarious and ridiculous in equal measures.

DM mistake led to that wee gob***** that was playing for Raith the other week running half the length of the park.
Still not sure how we lost that game 3-0 tbh

I honestly had no idea he'd been The Rangers player of the year before he came to us until I watched Time for Heroes. Total madness from fannyhat to release him. As for Senderos, I'd forgotten he was at the Huns but was told on Friday he's supposedly on 10K a week 😀
