The (i) besides my seats says "The seat you previously purchased has PRC/CRC restrictions on them"

    Any idea what this means?

the one thing you miss with this post is that the AST doesn't guarantee you a ticket, you are obliged to purchase a ticket... no choice really, which for those who are AST holders is why they bought it I'm sure, as this in turn guarantees you a ticket.

The HST does reserve you a ticket for the home cup games but you are not obliged to buy it, thus its not guaranteed. HST seats are released to general sale after a specific date from when they go on sale.

Having not noticed this point at time of launch I am actually quite happy i didn't opt for the AST as I couldn't guarantee i would get to all away games in the league never mind additional away cup games.

contradicted yourself in the same sentence.

Im sure an AST holder will correct me if I'm wrong, but they are guaranteed a ticket to all away matches, the only question is whether they can stand or not. Either way, they pay for the ticket regardless, which was clear when it was announced.

You can request standing tickets instead of seated stand tickets, the club are usually ok with this.

I was in the ticket office about 14:45 today collecting Dumbarton and Bonnyrigg tickets. The staff said they had sold 4000 yesterday for Bonnyrigg and it had been very steady today. When I asked about the possibility of a general sale she said she thought it would do but didn't think there wouldn't be many for the general sale.

I also mentioned the ticket website being a howler and she said they are aware of it but it was just the volume of people trying to get on at the same time, no mention if they are trying to upgrade or not.

So they sold 4000 BR tickets over the whole day

Doesn't take an IT anayst to figure the problem has nothing to do with the volume and everything to do with the complexity of verifying, assigning and allocating tickets. Hibs & TM need to go back to the drawing board before we get to the SCF again in May

It is down to the server capacity allocated to us, nothing to do with the complexity. Ticketmaster sell thousands of tickets in a short period of time with little or no problem for major concerts.

Yes split between online and in person but can you imagine 3-4000 people having to queue up though nowadays? We'd only complain there was no online sales and you'd still be there now. I'd hate to have to return to the days of queuing overnight for derby tickets. Stuff that! Online sales may not be perfect but it is far easier than standing queuing in the piss rain and howling gales.

Not suggesting we ditch online sales. Just that we ditch a system that feels like it belongs in 1995.... for a club the size of Dumbarton

You would not have 3000-4000 people queuing on the first day if we only sold 4000 tickets. I reckon it's probably about 4 tickets average per transaction which means between the ticket office and online they only had to deal with around 1000 transactions over the whole day.

The fact that the server can't even cope with that shows just how bad the current online setup is.

What would be the chances of the ticket office
Changing my tickets for the Bonnyrigg game ?
    Anyone done this before.

To to be completely honest, I actually meant to say 'attend', not 'stand', bloody autocorrect

that said, at least the autocorrect substituted something sensible

If you didn't have to assign the tickets what's to stop anyone including opposition fans buying them in bulk? It's one per client reference number but if they don't get that when you order online what's to stop you ordering 10?

So why can't they give you more time to complete the transaction?

If 4000 people all log on at 10am to try and buy Justin Beiber tickets you have the exact same problem. Ticketmaster are the biggest in the sector but you always have these problems due to the way everyone tries to get on at opening time.

Not here to solve the problem, but why does the ST verification and assignment of tickets need to be done as part of the purchase process, slowing everything down ? As long as the person buying tickets for a Network is pre-authorised and trusted, Hibs/TM should just allow that "lead STH" to logon, buy tickets for the whole Network (up to the no of STHs in the Network) and assign them later, notionally assign them or not assign them at all. A simple counter/marker on the database can then be used to control access and further purchases by folk in that Network.

I dont know to be honest and it is a pain when you buy multiple tickets. I was only giving my thoughts on why they need to asign to others.
