Watched it last week, out last night so recorded it. How bloody sad. But as you say, interesting to see how much money is wasted providing for folk who have no appreciation for the cost of things. But that's another debate in itself!

Pal of mine used to work for a council housing department, stories he tells are incredible - folk keeping a council house that they're not living in just so they can have a party and trash it once a month; guys forgetting their keys every friday night just kicking the door in knowing the council will replace it.

They have a stock of emergency accomodation which is usually occupied for only a few days till folk are moved to permanent homes. Every time the tenant changes the house gets a full wiring inspection, all gas appliances serviced, house searched from top to bottom. Sometimes the same property could get this a couple of times a week - because of issues like child porn found under floorboards, syringes hidden in electrical sockets and toilets, copper ripped out of the walls, parts taken out of boilers etc.

As usual some folk spoiling it for those in real need. What can you do though? No one should be without a roof in a country as rich as ours.

If someone kicks in their own door on a regular basis why can't they be charged for repairs?

Too many people go through life thinking they are entitled to things when they are not, but it does not help when we are weak and bend over backwards to help people who take advantage of the system.

Exactly. Or at least take some of 'theor' money to pay for it.

Another thing, charge 1 per prescription would stop a lot of unnecessary waste.
