Thread: RIP Greg Lake

    RIP Greg Lake

For those of us (like me) old enough to remember King Crimson and Emerson, Lake and Palmer, the death of a legend. Great voice too.

Sorry to hear the great Greg Lake has passed - great voice, superb bass player and musician and part of ELP one of my favourite groups - must dig Tarkus out this evening ....

What a rotten year this is turning out to be for fans of 70s music.
That's two thirds of ELP gone in the same year.

So sad to lose Emerson and Lake in the same year. RIP to them both. ELP were a fantastic band. Following the news I worked on an arrangement of 'I believe in Father Christmas'' last night with my bands guitarist to play as a wee tribute on Saturday night. 2016 has been some year for celebrity deaths, some real legends have passed away this year.

Yeh, not listened to Tarkus for ages, when I heard the news I dug out the black Works album. Great stuff, never get bored of it.

My band playing mate, a great organist and (ELP) Keith Emerson fan, and I had huge discussions about the merits of the Works volumes - I much preferred the "earlier" stuff ... must have another look at those LPs ...
