Such sad, horrible news. Some reports saying there's only a few survivors, including 3 players.
From such a high a few days ago to this for them. Just hard to think what their families are feeling. And the fans.

Read about this this morning, horrible news. Apparently there are now only 5 survivors from the 81 passengers as one died on the way to hospital. They were about to play the south american version of the final of the Europa League which was by a distance the biggest game in the club's history.
I've read elsewhere that the same plane was used earlier this month when the Argentina national side traveled from Argentina to Brazil for a qualifier.
The other finalist, Atletico Nacional of Colombia, have asked the south american football association to award the final victory to Chapecoense FC. A nice touch on a horrible day for football.

Apparently PSG will donate €40M to the Brazilian team. Amazing gesture if true.

Sad to hear of any tragedy like this, even worse if such a thing were possible when it involves so many fit young people who were on their way to making history as well. Hopefully the football community will get together to help the relatives of the victims and the club as well, which looks like what is happening.
RIP

Terrible news, shades of Munich this. RIP to all the casualties and condolences to the families. They will be remembered.
Great gesture by both PSG & Atletico Nacional. Reckon their will be a minute silence before kick-off this Friday with both sets of players wearing black armbands.

The picture of the 3 players in the changing room today was heartbreaking, can only imagine what they're going through.

Apparently one of the players who didn't travel with the rest of the team was actually at the airport with them, but forgot his passport and was refused entry onto the flight.
That kind of thing boggles the mind. Absolutely mental.

Absolutely heartbreaking, practically an entire team wiped out. Unimaginable. I know its a clique but it really does put everything into perspective.
RIP to all who have sadly lost their loves and all my thoughts to all the families, survivors and everybody connected to the club.

Heartbreaking news, 21 journalists/reporters also died on the plane. Compare it to the scenes of joy in the changing room just a few days ago! I'm sure they will, but hopefully the whole football community comes together and shows solidarity and support for the victims families and the club themselves.

Brazillian clubs said they will loan them players for no fee and the authorities have said they wont be relegated for 3 years. Also many big clubs have come forward to give money including PSG who have given them 40m. Outstanding gestures. Just shows you that football rivalries don't matter at all in times like this, the football family will always pull together in times of crisis.

Apparently one of the surviving players has had a leg amputated.
Just grim stuff. The response from Nacional and the other Brazilian clubs has been excellent in the circumstances.

If you were watching a mini series or a film and events like this happened (keeper being pulled out only to die in hosptial but not before he phoned his wife, another just found out he was to become a dad, the player who left his passport) you would think it was a far flun fantasy. It's anything but. Such a shame, such a cruel and horrible event.
