Thinking of putting a wee bet on the royal rumble this year. Who do you think will win it?
Depends what happens in the title match. If asuka wins that, then I think becky wins the rumble.

If lynch wins the title, then I think Charlotte wins the rumble.

Rollins to win the men's rumble and mcintyre most eliminations.

Don't know about as big WWE are huge if they get some good TV contracts they definitely can become the number 2 company worldwide. One advantage they have is the Khan's are loaded

Who we thinking Daniel Bryan will face at Wrestlemania? Can't see many options for a 1on1 match for him on smackdown. And I don't think they will do other multi man match so close to elimination chamber.

Brock Lesnar supposedly going to be in talks with AEW.

Would be good for both parties IMO, get him away from the sports entertainment side of things, every time he faces more of an indie style wrestler he looks a different man.

Ive just been having a look through the other sports section and come across this thread. Ive never had an interest in this sort of sport as Ive always believed its just entertainment and fake. A quick search on the internet just now pretty much backs this up. So my question is if this "sport" is fake, why would anyone in their right mind put bets on?

Ah, the old "fake" description again! :-)

To answer your question, I suppose people would bet on it for many of the same reasons they bet on sport. For example; it enhances their enjoyment of watching the event or, based on what they know about the event, they think they can predict the outcome.

Hi, I dont mean to disrespect your sport but if there is even an element of "fixing" shall we say then betting on it must surely equate to pure luck. Other sports betting at least you can study form to an extent.
Anyway I dont know enough about it to comment with any real knowledge. Just wondering 😀

No disrespect detected and I totally understand where you're coming from. The "fake" description is a bit too simplistic for me though considering what the guys and girls who take part put their bodies through.

Vince McMahon calls it "sports entertainment" rather than a sport because, as you've said, the outcome is pre-determined.

With regard to the betting side, you can study form in a strange way; it's not so much to do with the performances of the wrestlers, as it is to do with the pattern of results, the direction of the company, upcoming events etc. You might also factor in things like where the event is being held, the wrestlers contract situation etc.

It's much the same as people putting bets on outcome of soap opera storylines "who was the murderer" & "who survived the big explosion". The outcomes are scripted like a TV show, the physical nature is real hence why it's still classed as a sport by many. The feats of athleticism in some cases are pretty impressive.

If it entertains people and doesn't do any harm then I don't get the issue over wrestling. The betting thing, I can kind of understand, but people bet on Strictly, Bake Off, The Apprentice etc. and often these are filmed in advance. Same idea.

Must have been large stakes to win that amount at those odds. ;-)

Had a 50/1 come in last year one event and had a fiver on this year's rumble at 18/1.

Mens chamber match should be very good other than that the card is poor looking.
