I think most of the **** has been deserved and at times he’s been totally out of control. As you say though underneath I think he’s a decent family man. Thankfully for him he seems to have finally got his **** together. I just wonder if it might be too late for him though.
I have met Derek several times as he frequents a local gastro-pub in Totteridge where we both live. He's a man-mountain of a man, yet he's as soft as nails.

I could have went tonight - I could also have watched it in the presence of Finchley Boxing Club who have taken over my local boozer for the evening. I planned to watch it in my local, but there were a number of meat-heads in their party and I left after the opening fight on the undercard.

Chisora has looked after his £££ well and lives in a wonderful abode that is worth upwards of £5M - fair play to whatever he does next.

He is without a doubt a bit of an enigma. In his interviews he comes across as an intelligent man, but his actions suggest otherwise. Maybe it’s all an act, the pantomime villain sometimes earns the most money.

Thank god he did. I had a bet on both fighters to go down and Whyte to win 20/1.

I disagree. It was defo worth it. Whyte Parker brilliant fight then takam and chisora absolute war. Joshua batsuai great fast knockout. Katie Taylor put on a good show and dave Allen earned himself a shot at the British heavyweight title by knocking out his opponent. It was a great night of boxing.

Exactly. Every fight was a good one for a change.

Disappointed Parker didn’t get into it until the end. What could’ve been. Ended up being so close on points that the head clash knockdown was pretty much what decided it.

Long way back for Parker now.

Parker for me. Better boxer, but in a slugfest either could catch a beauty on the chin and spark out. Parker in rounds 11-12

I said to my mates around 7 or 8 that the knockdown/head clash could be the decider but Whyte May have known he had that cushion. As nice a guy as Parker is, he isn’t ruthless enough for me to be a top champion.

Easy to say it was worth it after the event though, I looked at it and decided not to pay as I thought it was a rip off for the bill. Sure plenty of other folk did too. The PFV events are becoming ridiculously too common, especially considering the amounts we already pay for SKY etc which was one of the reasons boxing fans subscribed to SKY before the rip off started.

Aberdeen Assasin Lee McAllister beat Mike Tyson conquerer Danny Williams last night. What’s the big deal? McAllister is a lightweight/welterweight. He put Williams down 5 times before the towel was thrown in in the 10th. Bonkers!

It was $50 in New Zealand, which is about 26 quid at current rates - what was it in the UK? That said, NZ Sky Sport costs $30 a month (15-16 quid) which I think is cheaper than UK? We also get most boxing matches that don't involve Parker for 'free' on Sky Sport - i.e. Bellew v Haye was free here earlier this year.

I do agree that $50 is steep and I'm not sure I'd say it was 'worth it', even though both of the last two fights (which is all I cared about) were good. I just can't be bothered with unreliable streams so tend to shell out if I really want to see something now. And I split the cost with a mate too so wasn't so bad in that sense.

Only good thing about Parker's defeat is that his next fight will surely be cheaper!

Looking forward to seeing Fury again tonight, hopefully he kicks on from the comeback fight.

It's all about rounds in the bank and if he can get back to 90% of where he was at the time of the Klitschko fight then he beats Wilder.

Far too unlikeable for me to be able to back him. And while I get that his style is effective, it’s not what gets me excited watching boxing.

I can't stand these cannon fodder fights, he'd get better rounds in the bank with a half decent sparring partner.

I don't particularly like him and his style isn't easy on the eye. He's smart though and his ringcraft is excellent.

The more top heacyweights competing the better imo and a fit, focussed Fury falls into that bracket.

Can’t argue with that and if we get a Fury v AJ fight at Wembley with both as champions then it would be some event. Whether that will ever happen is another matter.

I love him, but I totally agree about his style. Like you say he’s smart, easily the smartest heavyweight on the planet. He’s never going to look impressive, but against a fighter that comes on to him, he’ll box them to death.

I'm not an officiado on boxing, but really after watching the Fury fight, I've got to ask if the pantomime season has arrived early this year?🙄
