I think what folk are trying to say is, how were they allowed to get to that amount without the council taking any action against them before they went bankrupt, as folk have said, you miss a few payments and Scott & co are on the case straight away, letters, court action, goods seizure to pay the debt, why were they not chasing them before they went bankrupt. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. In the normal course of things, reminders are sent out.
More reminders are sent.
Threats of Court action are sent.
Notice of Court action is sent.
All of that is common to both private and business debts. The whole process can take months. If your balls are big enough, or you have no money, you just ignore it. And ... crucially, in Hearts' case, it's all confidential. Even more importantly, the Council can't withhold services, in the way that the Utility companies can. So, generally, they're at the end of the queue.
It's only when it actually reaches Court that it becomes public... and that could be a year or so down the line. Even at that, if the case goes against you, and you still can't or won't pay..... you don't, and accept the consequences.

Not so Odious
Re the first post on this thread:
It has the line……the Odious Scott Wilson £1000.?
I have known Scott for over 35 years and he has always been a daft Jambo who wears his Heart on his sleeve.
He was actually a very good goalkeeper in his younger days, and played behind me for quite a few years.
So, I think its a bit much, too call him odious, even though he always refers to us as the Wee Team.(He's actually a very funny bloke and great to have a bit of banter with!!).
I don't think any of my Hibby teammates from that era would ever say anything bad about him and he's done a fair amount of Charity Work over the years.
To "the vue from 1875" have you ever met him or been in his company?.
IF you have and thats still your opinion, then thats fair enough, as I realise that we can't get on with everybody.
GGTTH.

Big Hearts lost £36k. They were charged that amount for 'rent' for desk space in one of the club's offices. The club had collected the amount through a variety of ways (can collections, donations, charity grants etc) but used the funds for 'rent' instead of giving the money for the charity to use. Big Hearts until that point had never been asked to pay rent and had to cancel many projects and staff lost out on work. This was when they were struggling to pay the player's wages.

A bit like saying you have a private jet just because you got a cheap seat on Ryanair.

Debts of 7 and 8 quid that they owed but didn't pay back. Show them for the two bit low level parasites they are. Bus station conmen.
Ripping off charities is about as low as it gets and they know it.

Nelson - "we have the best training facilities in Scotland by a country mile".
Fails on two counts.
A) No it isn't.
B) It's not yours.
The rephrased version should have said
"We hire Heriot Watt's facilities when we have cash to do so and it ranks among the best although Hibs, Celtic and The Rangers have their own ones and we extremely jealous that we cannot and never will afford our own"
Nice try though Chewbacka

He also slavered something about 'soon having the infrastructure to challenge Septic for the league' - must be approaching time for half-season ticket sales and they need to milk their Muppets again !

So you can forget about the debts of over £20m plus the 16m of debt forgiveness by ukio winkas but as long as you pay the football debt, which was a tiny percentage of the overall debt then that's ok. I'm sure Scott Wilson is a nice guy but when he is spouting his crap at the pbs he's anything but. My mate has stopped going to the pbs and just says he can't be bothered because the football is pish. I think it's more to do with him being a decent person and does feel ashamed at all the time around Romanov. Obviously one of the few from them with a conscious. Can't stomach anything to do with that club. I have to put up with them socially and they talk the biggest load of tripe you've ever heard. I'm sure some of them are those that post on every hibs post in the Scotsman. The club with no class and no shame.

Not only did he spout the nonsense that he did and get shafted by them for doing it, but he then went back and did it again.

But as a yam pointed out the DFE swaps were a transaction and that UBIG got Hearts FC shares in return for their cash.
And folk wonder (usually Yams) how they went bump?
On the poppy fund debt I once had an epic spat with Lord Foulkes on twitter which really, really annoyed the bastirt.
