Surely Szcesny (sp?) was credited with an own goal whilst at Arsenal? Would that make it 3 then?

Jim Lovell never said "houston we have a problem" on Apollo 13.

Hanks does say it the movie though.

In the entire history of the English Premier League, only two goals have been scored by Polish players.
What's the criteria for being a Polish player? Can think of Radzinski and Podolski without really trying. Both were born in Poland, but played for other countries.

I think you've answered your own question

I can't claim credit for the question, I came across it in a Sporcle quiz and was genuinely surprised that only two Polish players had scored in the EPL. I assume the quiz criteria was the nation they chose to represent. Does make me now question if there were any uncapped foreign players on the list and how they worked that one out.

I Googled the recent Polish squads and it looks like the ones who go abroad tend to end up in Serie A, with a few in Germany and France. For some reason the keepers seem to come here though!

Happened to an old boy at my work, was positive for traces of opioid's I think and it was due to his diet of what I can only describe as but seeds on a cracker

Not true. There was a programme on tv last week about this and the trial they did showed it was impossible.

There was a programme I watched that proved it was possible (that's why I posted it) and there have also been several recorded incidents including a prison governor? There is also another poster who knows of someone affected.

I was watching a quiz show a couple of days ago and it one of the questions involved a celebrity who had tested positive after eating a poppyseed loaf. I wish I could remember who it was now.

The programme the other night said you could test positive, but there could be a huge difference in potency depending on where/when/how it was harvested and also how much a person consumes. If you eat it regular there can potentially be a build up in the system, or something along those lines.

Before the Second World War, pink was seen as a masculine colour. It's was often associated with baby boys due to its relationship with fiery, dominant red and light blue was more of a girls thing.

Juventus and Palermo used to wear pink for that very reason and they still do today in some form.

That's a belter, particularly because I will remember it (and look for it) every time I see a clock/watch with roman numerals on it now.
I've just noticed that the clock on the Big Ben tower has IV rather than IIII. That's the only one I've ever seen like that.

Probably the most famous clock face in the world, I've been past it hundreds of times and I've only just noticed now.

On this day in 1979 the first fully human powered aircraft crossed the English Channel. I challenge anyone to find a fact more useless than that

Challenge accepted. The longest word in English with no repeated letters is 'dermatoglyphics'.

To be fair that's a decent attempt, but the fact that you've used it in an attempt to outdo my fact means it is useful.

Water boils at 100 degrees at sea level, but that decreases by 1 degree for every 1000ft you go up
At the top of Mount Everest it will boil at 70 degrees.
