    Fringe recommendations

Can't see the usual annual thread for this....

Seen previously Danny Bhoy, Stewart Lee, Andrew Maxwell, Scott Gibson, Bruce Morton, Daniel Sloss, Rhod Gilbert, Franky Boyle (W.I.P) all very good.

Any recommendations for new talent with similar humor to the above or anyone else I should check out?

2 for 1 on the same day as I'm going to see Bill Burr at same venue.

    Recommendation shall be acted upon.

I'm going to see Max & Ivan again this year, very funny sketch type show. Saw them last year and looking forward to a new show. Getting dragged to see Russell Howard tonight but may yet fake my own death.

Few other things booked but names escape me, luckily they are on the calendar. Usually pick a few things once reviews start coming in. I try to avoid really established acts as well who charge regular prices as that's not really what the Fringe should be about imo.

There is no such thing as too much yarn, just not enough time.

He was Head Boy at my school when I was in 1st year. Would never have guessed he'd end up being a comedian.

I'm gutted I missed out on Stewart Lee tickets, sold out.

I'll be going to Tony Law, Hot Dub Time Machine and Piff The Magic Dragon.

Prob a load of other stuff too but I've not picked it out yet. I've saw James Acaster a couple of times and always enjoyed that.

Saw James Acaster tonight which was very good.

Jason Byrne tomorrow, Mr Laurel and Mr Hardy on Sunday & Larry Dean on Monday are next.

I see Jollyboat is on again at Movement.

Silly but very enjoyable hour and part of the Free Festival.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I've probably been to 44 shows in any 2 years, over the past 20

Edinburgh splits at this time of year, between those like me who can't get enough, and those who can't wait for the last luvvie-train to leave for London at the end of August.

Been to many shows over the years at the Festival don't think I've ever laughed as much as at Jason Byrne's show last night, was a brilliant show.

A must see I would say.

I was at the same show.

I've seen JB quite a few times over the years and thought that was the worst by quite a margin.

The fact that it kicked off late and we were wet after queuing in the rain to get in might have tainted our opinions but I really thought his material was poor and lacked any structure.

Based on last night I wouldn't go back!

    Opinions eh!!!

First time I have seen him live and had me in tears laughing all the way through.

If that was his worst yet I just wish I'd seen him at his best.

Went to Dracula. Very good show. Also went to the hog wallops in the meadows..... Ok show with good acrobatics but a bit repetitive.

I've only been to a couple of shows in my lifetime.
I went to the Tattoo for the first time last year. Brilliant, but I wouldn't go again.
    I suppose it's because I don't like crowds.
Maybe that's why I don't go to ER so much these days

Trust me, there's plenty shows out there where crowds won't be a problem
