I wonder when the big clubs will come in for De Gea and Coutinho. Can't be far off as they deserve champions league football.

When you're in need of three goals and you throw on a couple of full backs..... LVG!

They're both already at big clubs and as far as Coutinho goes I think he will renain and see what Klopp can do next season when he builds his own team.

Yeah. Only a big Barca bid would see him leave I reckon. Imagine him in behind that front three 😳

Maybe but Liverpool have been small time for a while now and United are heading that way.

If a club that means business like City comes calling it would be hard to turn down. Big wages and the promise of big time tournaments would be hard to resist.

    Coutinho for Barcelona? Really?
    Wow!!
As a card carrying Culé I can only laugh and shake my head at that suggestion. Surely a wind up?
De Gea is probably in the top ten of world goalies so that makes more sense, but coutinho? Lol indeed.

The fighting was caused by a small group of Liverpool fans in the Utd end. It kicked off when they unveiled a flag

Coutinho is way too inconsistent for someone to pay a big fee.

I must say well done to Liverpool, though it hurts. The better team went through over the two legs; no complaints. I thought Coutinho was excellent, along with Sakho in defence.

An enjoyable match but very frenetic, exciting in a sort of British way. Both teams gave the ball away with alarming regularity. Dortmund or Sevilla would bury either of these teams.

Yes, this was a nostalgia trip of a tie. Liverpool and Manchester United would have been highly embarrassed to meet sat this stage in the Europa Cup just a few seasons ago. Now it's probably about the best they can hope for.

Disciplinary action to be taken by UEFA against both clubs. It kicked off at full time when a Liverpool fan tried to unveil a banner in the home section.

United are to be charged under safety regulations for having stairways blocked, for crowd disturbances and the throwing of objects.

Liverpool are to be charged with illicit chants, setting off fireworks, the throwing of objects, crowd disturbances and the team being late onto the pitch.

I'll await a crippling fine that acts as a serious deterrent with bated breath.

Bayern played Juventus in the last round, that is a tie easily worthy of being the final. Atletico were 30 seconds away from winning it 2 years ago and put out Barcelona along the way.

The game was entertaining I thought but an incredible drop in standard from the Champions League fare on offer during the week. Some of the passing and ball control were very poor indeed. Some excellent players on view such as Coutinho but a significant number also of what would be referred to in European terms as "journeymen".

Sakho is an interesting player - particularly in view of the curiously large fee Liverpool paid for him. He appears to be a solid defender but I didn't understand why United failed to press him when he had the ball at his feet. He is the ultimate "bomb-scare" and I think deserves the mantle of "giraffe on roller skates" more than our big Rob Jones ever did.
