We really would be going back to the bad old days of Petrie at his worst, and no, a loan of Stokes would not make it any better.

JC is a promising talent and he is improving all the time but surely he is not ready for a big money move yet. I'd be shocked if he is leaving so soon, especially to a team such as Celtic. It frustrates me how it is always our players who come in for this kind of attention in the press. Why, for example, is Sam Nicholson not being linked with a move out of Gorgie?

We'd be NUTS to sign Stokes. He's just not worth the money it'd take nor the problems he'd bring.

I think we would be nuts not to sign Stokes if the chance is there and if he would prefer to come here, as reported. Promotion this season is vital and Stokes knows where the back of the net is. It's not like we are presently scoring a hell of a lot of goals. Although I don't think I would be too keen on a move that would see JC going the other way.

If stokes signed for us he'd be the best striker on our books. If he was determined to make the ROI squad, that would only work in our favour. If Stubbs trusted him to come in and work with the squad, then I would too

94 goals in his 191 games in top level Scottish football, and still only 27. It's a yes from me.

Stokes might be the solution for changing nervy 1 nil wins into comfortable 3 or 4 nil wins.

Would be a great signing, quality player. Could help us clinch promotion, get him signed Stubbsy!

Stokes would be the best forward we have at the club should he sign, wouldn't care if he borrowed £100k from HSL and never paid it back if it got us up, and maybe won us a cup or two.

Is the bigger thing here not his IRA connected past? Too much baggage for potential gain in my book.

Does my head in that so many people are so judgemental about a person that they've probably never met.
That was a long time ago he was at hibs and nobody knows what effort he's made as a person since then, if every mistake I made as a 21 year old was in the public domain I dread to think what folk would be saying about me, most of us will have been ********s to some extent at that age.
I realise he's also fallen out with delia recently but he's not exactly the only person to do that.
I just want us to get promoted, Stokes would score the goals that would help us do that, that's literally all I care about.

Looking forward to seeing Stokes back in a Hibs Jersey.
He could well be the difference in getting us out this division.

Signing Stokes would hopefuly give us a good plethora of goal scorers and would hopefuly improve our goal scoring in case thay counts at the end of the season.

He may not be the most popular character but he certainly knows where the goal is.
He would be a massive asset at the business end of the season

It's not just the goals Stokes brings, he is also very creative and gets a lot of assists. If we can get him then we need to make it happen.

I thought according to some on here, Stokes had alleged gambling issues and was borrowing money from younger players, that he failed to pay back ?

Would be a brilliant signing. Our chances of winning the league and a cup would increase. Great that a player of his ability would turn down top flight clubs to sign for us (if it happens).

I had originally said no based on the fact he's a bit of a trumpet. I'm now fully in the 'get him in' camp. Would score for fun in this league.
