I have just been watching the news regarding a large percentage of balance boards being impounded at UK borders for being electrically unsafe.
I have bought one of these from Amazon which is due for delivery on the 15th dec.
The company I bought it from don't seem to be selling anything at all now.
Will I receive a refund from Amazon if these goods are impounded for being unsafe ?
It was £250.
Cheers

I'm kind of hoping it has been seized if they are that unsafe.
Still want my money back though. No Eternal Reward Shall Forgive Us Now For Wasting The Dawn

I think the more important question is why are they called hover boards when they have wheels
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I received a reply from the company saying the goods are fully compliant with UK safety standards and won't be impounded .
They also said that if I still had any concerns that they would gladly exchange it for a refund.
Fingers crossed.
I will give it a check over and PAT test when it arrives. No Eternal Reward Shall Forgive Us Now For Wasting The Dawn

I had read that it was large consignments that we're getting pulled as some shop owners were buying the cheap versions in bulk then selling for £300 in UK.No Eternal Reward Shall Forgive Us Now For Wasting The Dawn

It's arrived. It does have a fuse less charger though which seems very dodgy but it does say to swap it with local version.
I've only gone a cracked the thing though. Can't believe it.
Tested it in the kitchen and it's quite a powerful wee thing. When I stepped one foot off it , the other side spun round and smashed into the dishwasher.
The wee clear plastic panel is now no longer
I'm gutted but the thing looks good fun.

Wee update on this .
A couple of days after I received it , I got an email from Amazon stating they believed it was unsafe and that I was to contact them to claim in their A to Z guarantee .
Amazon refunded me the full cost and I am awaiting the seller to arrange uplift of the item.
After the email from Amazon I decided to buy one from a UK retailer and purchased one online from Menkind .
3 days after that Argos ,Menkind etc pulled them from sale due to safety fears.
It arrived yesterday : but I have promptly sent it back.
What a carry on. Don't want to take the risk though.

I've also been refunded twice . One back on my card and the same amount as a gift certificate and I still have the item.
I will of course let them know this asap.No Eternal Reward Shall Forgive Us Now For Wasting The Dawn

Why don't you just assume that it's compensation for the inconvenience?
