    Season 1983-84

    Redevelopment was started on the ground and the high terracing was removed, this was part of the recommendation of the Lord Justice Taylor report which became law.

    Due to the lack of progress and lack of funds, Stanton resigned but was persuaded to reconsider, however his assistant Jimmy O’Rourke and George Stewart had had enough and left at the end of the season.

    July, John Blackley was brought in from Hamilton as Pat’s assistant.

    A number of youngsters from Hibs youth set-up were given their chance. Amongst this group of players were Brian Rice, Paul Kane, Gordon Hunter, Mickey Weir and John Collins.

    May, Hibs ended the season in 7th position.

    4th May, Willie Ormond died aged 57, During his time with Hibs he played 335 competitive games and scored 147 goals.

    The Taylor Report was ten years later.

    Kenny Waugh took off the top of the terrace, Shaw's Heights, to enable the terrace to be covered, nothing legally binding there.
