I had all my eggs in he Vautour basket in the King Dode and came up just short. Think he's best over 2m5 but he's too good for the Ryanair and deserves a shot at a Championship race. I would love to see him line up in the Gold Cup. Wouldn't envy Ruby having to choose between him, Djkadam and Don Poli.
Decision made a bit easier for Ruby with Bryan Cooper having the call for Gigginstown. I'm guessing nothing will be definite until Festival week.

I just booked my tickets today, £60 for gold cup day is a bit much tbh.

    United we stand here....

Yep pricing is a bit ridiculous now, that's why I swerved last year and am doing the same this year. Although the £55 I'm paying for Tattersalls at Aintree in April isn't exactly a bargain.

At least with Aintree they've really upped their game from a few years ago, there's loads of bars and you're not packed in like sardines.

So Djakadam takes a tumble and Smad Place wins well from Many Clouds. More questions than answers re the Gold Cup after today .

Not going this year but the sort of horse that makes me bet wisely on the Tuesday and Wednesday keeping the powder for him on Thursday.

Faugheen out the Champion Hurdle and for the season.

Annie Power the 9/4 Fav now although she would have to be supplemented.

Big win, albeit in a modest event, for Silviniaco Conti at Ascot today. Had a soft palate op and sacroids removed and looked good for it. Ruled out of the World Hurdle by PN though and will run in the National or Aintree Bowl.

Won a few quid on Reve De Sivola earlier. When the ground is that heavy there's no other horse I'd trust my money with.

I have in the past. Usually quite decent but Im too easily led and have had my fingers burnt in the past. Prefer to Watch the ones Betfair/coral post online and don't let them sway me one way or another!

Wouldn't put you off going mind

I went to one 4 or 5 years back at Wincanton when I was down that way.

It was pretty decent and Paul Nicholls and Ruby Walsh were in attendance and answered questions in a way that seemed open.

I do go. Just wondered if anyone else does. Been to the one called the Hamilton preview now since its inception. Only missed it once to attend a different one at Kelso but the Hamilton one is far better.

Always takes a bit of a shine of it when top horses miss out on the championship races.

Think I might have an each way on Top Notch in that one.

I've had my usual ante post bets from October onwards running and I've bet the new one. I've never bet him so due me nothing but with the field cut up and question marks over most now it's more a level playing field and he defo goes there with a live chance. Not convinced he's my only bet in the race mind but happy with my ante post price.

    Any early fancies?

Cheers! Just waiting for the handicap weights. Think they were confirmed yesterday so should have them out soon

One sleep to go. I do like Bristol de Mai in the JLT.

    Can't wait.

I see, as expected, Annie Power has been confirmed for the Champion.

I'll be having a punt on Polly Peachum in the Mares now.

Timeform handicapper all over that as an each way bet to nothing.

Yorkhill not declared for Supreme. Only seven in Arkle, distance betting for me in that now the each way is compromised.

I fancied Yorkhill in the Supreme. I really want to take Min on but Altior looks a bit skinny as well.

Old Guard is out of the Champion.

Vautour running in the Ryanair and not the Gold Cup.

Disappointed but the Thursday double is sorted now. Thistlecrack and Vautour pays 3/1.

What a farce from Ricca over the Vautour saga. Not fair on punters in the slightest.

    Day 1 -

    Supasundae
    Sizing John W/O Douvan
    MTOY Champion Hurdle
    Native River
    Thomas Brown
