Seemingly he's sticking with Fletcher up top on his tod

Delighted to be proven wrong, but we need to win and that needs confident, on form strikers. That's what Griffiths is right now.

Never could make up my mind about James Forrest until recently.

He is a very poor player.

He's got zero end product, about 1 in 50 of his mazy runs end in a decent cross or shot. He just runs with his head down until he's tackled or spoons the ball out of play. I don't rate him at all.

Surprised to see a draw tonight could well be good enough.

Imo Ireland will lose to Germany abd good chance they'll get beat off Poland too (that game is in Poland eh?)

Don't think tonight as much of a must win as most are suggesting.

You're spot on. Unfortunately it is (at least) must draw though...

Not confident night... but I was wrong about the Georgia game so hopefully I am wrong about this too

    C'mon Scotland!

My concern is if it's a draw Ireland decide they'd rather just play out a draw abd take third than risk losing out all together and play out a dull nil nil with both teams passing it around their own defences. Suppose to eliminate that prospect tonight is a must win. Like to think that wouldn't happen though.

Totally confident we will win. Apart from the georgia away match we have played well, and a win tonight means we have taken 4/6 points from our two main rivals, poland and roi, and deserve at least a playoff. Imo.

I'm not, he plays for Celtic. Mulgrew would have still been in the team if fit as well.

Atmosphere is mental inside Hampden. A lot of Poland fans in my section.

I'd have taken a wee chance on Griffiths. However, Strachan must be satisfied with Fletcher in training.

who would you have picked? Personally would have Whitty at right back and Robertson left back. Not sure about playing Forrest though we are incredibly lacking in pace. Also not sure about Griffiths up front on his own so can understand Fletcher as a target.

Robertson would always play for me. id have gone 352 but strachan always plays 4231..... Id have Rhodes and Griff before fletcher. Huge task for Brown in the middle. Worth a bet for a yellow.

Edit - Id have found a place for Macauthur too. I'd also have Hanlon in there too! ;-)

He does play the same system, think you might be right with 3 centre backs especially against Lewandowski. Fletcher needs a player up with him. Him and Griffiths would have been a handful also. Wouldnt be surprised if Brown got a red as he looks off it the last few games.

Im sorry but robertson was absolutely woeful in his last game for scotland and im not sure he is playing every week for hull. Griffiths and rhodes dont hold the ball up and u need that in international football unless you are totally going to dominate the game. Im sorry but apart from georgia away im not sure you can critisize strachan and his selections.

Griffiths was often superb up front on his own for us.

Holds the ball up well and works hard enough to justify the role. Add to that that he's a goalscorer and I'd have started him ahead of Fletcher who has single figure goals in nearly 40 games.

I have very little chance of watching this. We will probably win in a stylish entertaining fashion.

Should have gone with Leigh over fletch. Griffiths and Naismith are the inform strikers ATM. Maloney on the bench too, thought he'd have been a starter.

Defo mate, for a wee guy he plays the upfront on his own role very well. It's Poland though they will be strong at the back. I'd personally have went with 2 strikers tonight.
U need an ibrahimovic type players for 1 up to really work, and fletch defo ain't that player!

Do you think he would be able to do that at this level? Have my doubts to be honest though I think we should have created a system where maybe both could play.

What does Griffiths need to do to get a start ffs

The left is the wrong side for Whittaker.Presumably he's picked for his attacking as nobody is going to pick him for defensive reasons-in which case he should be on the right. If you can't beat teams below you in the rankings you don't deserve to go through.
