Hibs v Dundee Utd, League Cup QF - Wed 4th November, 7.45pm

Well the short wait, which has turned out to be quite a long one, is nearly over for the quarter final draw.

Here's hoping we get drawn against the remaining teams in order of preference:-

    1. Morton [weakest team left in the draw - gives us the best chance of progressing]
    2. Dundee Utd [ripe for the taking with off the field turmoil and no manager]
    3. Hearts [bragging rights up for grabs and a good money earner - hope to meet them at Hampden ideally]
    4. Ross Co [good result against them in the Cup last season]
    5. Inverness [on a semi decent run in the league at the moment but very beatable]
    6. St Johnstone [wary of their tactically astute manager and on a decent run in the league/cup]
    7. Celtic [we've little chance of progressing unless they play a 2nd XI and we are at home. I would hate to see Leigh play against us]

    Your thoughts?

They'd come to ER and play with 10 men behind the ball. We'd struggle to break them down as per and it could all go tits up.
    I'll

I'll take Utd at home please.

I assume must be otherwise no reason to delay the draw. Mind you, it is Scotland! Draw at 2.30.

For an uncertain event like a live draw, it definitely has an inevitability about it. I think it's a stick-on to be a derby.

If normally always want the lowest ranked team at home but we struggle against teams that come and sit in so we'd probably have a better chance against a team that think they are better than us and come to win the match.

Just reading your blurb I get the feeling that we'll get Celtic at ER with Leigh putting us to pasture...

We must be due to play them at Tynecastle in a cup tie.

IIRC the last time was around 1972 when Arthur Duncan scored a solo effort from the halfway line.

Since then we must have drawn them 4 or 5 times at ER.

for me... anyone but Morton/Celtic at ER... We will put a shift in against any team coming to play us... funny feeling a Morton tie would strangely be the toughest (though i do realise Celtic would probablly give us a doing) ...

Too much being made of the 'getting up for it against bigger teams' and 'not breaking teams down when they sit in' in my opinion.

Morton at home is still without a doubt the most favourable draw for us and every other team.

Teams won't sit in as much in the quarter finals of a cup.

    United we stand here....

Seemingly the draw is being screened live on the BBC sport website. Maybe someone could post a link nearer the time

They'd be missing a trick if they don't.
