Glad I took my own advice and popped a tenner each way on Lawrie at 50s. He's going well.

Now -6, WTF, this guy is killing me for a few bob, hope he has a howler in the morning and hits a few triple bogeys
They all seemed to have a decent front 9, but then drop loads on the back 9. Pretty sure they were the same last year, so I'd say you should be safe enough!

Farcical is the only word to describe proceedings this morning. Play suspended in the meantime due to the gale force winds. Some of the players are distinctly unhappy and saying that play should not have started in the first place.

We could be heading for a Monday finish I reckon.

The forecasts have the winds not easing up until about 4pm so that's the earliest we'll see any golf I'd think.

Monday finish a certainty now, IMO.

    - shocked they started this morning in all honesty - conditions were grim even as they were getting underway.

Dustin Johnson will arguably be more annoyed than anyone as he was sent out in unplayable conditions and it cost him a shot!

As far as the US Open was concerned then I presume that Sky's coverage was to a large extent dependent on what was shown by the host US broadcaster. I can't remember which US TV company did have the broadcasting rights but I think they were relatively new to golf and the US Open was their first major tournament.

In this country, the R&A have awarded exclusive rights to SKY wef 2017 - their bid was more than double than the BBC so it's hardly surprising I suppose.
FOX Sports GB. (a Murdoch company) They got better as the week went on but the first day wasn't great. I think the BBC should still get to cover The Open but to be fair to SKY they are there every week on the European Tour and IMO deserve to get a slice of it, if not all. The R&A are the ones who should have a long hard look at themselves. They are taking the cash which is fine if its reinvested in the grass roots of the game but I do wonder how many kids will have access to viewing it. I know from personal experience that watching it as a kid inspired me to want to go out and actually play the game even if it was one club and one ball up the public park where I lived. Is giving it to SKY the best to promote and foster the game? I doubt it.

No golf will start until around 3pm today.

Will folk get a refund if they have paid £80 for today's golf.

Projected starting time is now 5pm for today.

Final round now scheduled for Monday -------------- £10 admission but I'll still be watching the conclusion on TV.

I took a guy up there earlier, cost him £150 plus his entrance fee. He must be either paralytic or pissed off by now.

Tenner entry fee sounds too good to miss.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

Benign conditions this morning. If it's the same all day then I fully expect a few rounds in the low sixties.

It looks too easy today. They'll need to shoot 4 under just to stay in contention.

Pretty crap coverage this afternoon imo. All they're doing is jumping from one player putting to another player putting.

As Mark James said, it's a birdie buffet, but I was getting indigestion watching it.

I couldn't agree more. Also the golf itself takes ages to appear on screen at the start of the day. We have to sit through dire chit-chat with Hazel Irvine. I won't miss her when Sky takes over. Likewise Mark James and his monotonous voice.

I had a look but there was no 'golflink' option. Look at trains to Leuchars.....sure there will be buses running again.
