The Hibernian Community Foundation and Edinburgh North East Foodbank are teaming up to host a foodbank collection ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Championship match with Alloa (25 April, kick off 3pm).
In December a supporter led collection raised a significant amount of food to support those in greatest need, and we hope supporters will again rally round for a good cause.
There will be collection points at the Famous Five and West Stands pre-match on Saturday. The Leith-based foodbank have provided the following shopping list to address their current needs:
-Milk (UHT or powdered)
-Sugar (500g)
-Fruit juice (long life carton)
-Cereals
-Tinned sponge pudding
-Tinned tomatoes
-Tinned vegetables
-Pasta Sauces
-Tinned rice pudding
-Tea bags/Instant coffee
-Instant mash potato
-Tinned meat/fish
-Tinned fruit
-Jam
-Biscuits or snack bars
-Tinned Baby Food
Everybody was overwhelmed by the response from Hibs fans at the last collection, so please bring what you can from the above list to the game on Saturday and support a worthwhile cause in our local community.
