Glasgow Airport to Hampden on Saturday

Flying in Saturday morning to Glasgow Airport but don't get in till 10.45.

Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the Hampden quickly apart from taxi( done a quick google check and clear as mince)

Is there a direct train or bus to Mount Florida (Hampden)from the airport ?

    Cheers in advance. GGTTH

No trains or direct bus. There should be a Glasgow bus and the timetable/bus stand location should be on the airport website. If you decide to get a taxi phone a local private hire company, the airport taxi drivers are a bit greetin faced if they have to run into glasgow.
give me a shout if you need some PH numbers.
Mrs glesga has just told me its about 4or5 quid on the bus to Glasgow and you would still need to get to Hamden.taxi is probably your best bet.

I think taxi the only bet given the flight being in at 1045 I would have thought.

Taxi everyday of the week, for speed. It's only 8.8 miles.

EDIT. You will be there before most of us......

Was looking into this myself - though I get in a couple of hours earlier. Taxi from Airport to City centre is about £20. Taxi from City centre to hampden is about £8. Might be chepaer if going straight to Hampden.

There is a shuttle bus every 20 mins from airport to city centre that's £6 single or £9 return.

If you are landing at 10:45 - then you may be out of airport c11:00? If it was me I would get a cab - though airport taxi or local is up for debate maybe.

Are you on your own? I am in with 4 people, so taxis seem the best option anyway.

One of these should get you there!

Adjust leave now to a suitable time on Saturday.

I'm getting in early (8:15ish) so I'm off to the city centre for a nosey/couple of nerve settlers. Can I use that number?
Would be doing the same on the way back. Hampden to city centre. Watch Arsenal and then off to airport.

Taxi to Paisley Gilmour Street from Airport ( about £5 )
Paisley Gilmour Street trains to Glasgow every 10mins
Buy a ticket from Paisley GS to Mount Florida.
15 mins PGS to Glasgow Central
Walk down to other platform and board train to Mount Florida ( 10 mins journey )

From the Airport to Mount Florida I reckon you can do it by the method above in about 35 - 40 mins for about a tenner

For £8.50 you can get a First Glasgow day ticket for the buses. It would cover your trips to and from the airport & to and from the stadium. This is probably your cheapest option.

Good idea Billy ,Usually just get a taxi from the house to games at hampden as the whole family usually go ,but just me and my son going to this one so was thinking of going into Glasgow early ,having a few beers for breakfast ,noise Aldo up and get the Train for a change .
Although have option of meeting up with buses from Fife booked into bowling club Always a good laugh
Will see what weather is like as if raining the lazy option of taxi will probably be the option

Some of their drivers are a little dodgy. I've had some bad experiences where their drivers have left drugs in the back seat and try to sell them to you while trying to play dumb.

As someone who lives in Merchant City, I no longer use them as a result. I use black cabs while I wait for Uber's Glasgow office to open.

National Express and City Link both do frequent services into Buchanan street bus depot from GLA airport.

We've had a few that go very silly routes to get places. One even went on the motorway when he didn't need to, come off, come back on the same junction on the other side, back towards where we started.

You can hire a car for the day for £19:00

Will get you back to the airport too once you've sobered up.

I live in the West End but used to live in the Southside (Battlefield). I wouldn’t use Hampden as the points raised above are true from experience.

If you call Network / ACS cars (01415571110) they run on a fixed rate (like Hampden) but are not dodgy and can get you into town for £15 rather than the £20/£25 using the airport taxis (or £8 I got charged by a black cab once).

They pick you up from the car park across from the terminal building and always have a driver at the airport so not a long wait either.
