Flying in Saturday morning to Glasgow Airport but don't get in till 10.45.
Can anyone tell me the best way to get to the Hampden quickly apart from taxi( done a quick google check and clear as mince)
Is there a direct train or bus to Mount Florida (Hampden)from the airport ?
Cheers in advance. GGTTH

give me a shout if you need some PH numbers.
Mrs glesga has just told me its about 4or5 quid on the bus to Glasgow and you would still need to get to Hamden.taxi is probably your best bet.Last edited by Glesgahibby; 14-04-2015 at 01:35 PM.

Was looking into this myself - though I get in a couple of hours earlier. Taxi from Airport to City centre is about £20. Taxi from City centre to hampden is about £8. Might be chepaer if going straight to Hampden.
There is a shuttle bus every 20 mins from airport to city centre that's £6 single or £9 return.
If you are landing at 10:45 - then you may be out of airport c11:00? If it was me I would get a cab - though airport taxi or local is up for debate maybe.
Are you on your own? I am in with 4 people, so taxis seem the best option anyway.

Would be doing the same on the way back. Hampden to city centre. Watch Arsenal and then off to airport.

Paisley Gilmour Street trains to Glasgow every 10mins
Buy a ticket from Paisley GS to Mount Florida.
15 mins PGS to Glasgow Central
Walk down to other platform and board train to Mount Florida ( 10 mins journey )
From the Airport to Mount Florida I reckon you can do it by the method above in about 35 - 40 mins for about a tenner

As someone who lives in Merchant City, I no longer use them as a result. I use black cabs while I wait for Uber's Glasgow office to open.Last edited by NYHibby; 14-04-2015 at 07:04 PM.

I live in the West End but used to live in the Southside (Battlefield). I wouldn’t use Hampden as the points raised above are true from experience.
If you call Network / ACS cars (01415571110) they run on a fixed rate (like Hampden) but are not dodgy and can get you into town for £15 rather than the £20/£25 using the airport taxis (or £8 I got charged by a black cab once).
They pick you up from the car park across from the terminal building and always have a driver at the airport so not a long wait either.
