    Pre-derby drinks

Where are people heading to for a pre-match drink before the derby? Trying to decide where best to go.

I'm going to The Murrayfield. Well that's if I get myself a ticket.

According to Internet the roseburn opens at 9am on a Saturday morning. Is this place still as busy before we play the dogs, or do the majority head to the Murrayfield Hotel?

Both are really busy. You won't get in the roseburn unless you're there early. The murrayfield is easier to get into but it takes ages to get served

I know mate but if past Saturday games are anything to go by, then you will need to be there before 9 to get in.

When was the last Saturday derby at Tynecastle? Must be years. They've all been on a Sunday which has meant the Roseburn opening at 11

Thanks mate. Usually go to Murrayfield beforehand, rather than stand for however long waiting to get served we would hide round the corner from the beer garden with a carry out. Standing outside with a carry out on a January morning doesn't seem as appealing as a nice warm boozer! Anyone going to the Murrayfield, the Hampton next door is worth a try if the Murrayfield gets too busy.

I really didn't think the Roseburn was that busy for the game earlier this season. Had nae bother getting in. The quietest I can remember it.

It was, but with tomorrow being a Saturday fixture, the place will be more in demand than last time round.
We were Roseburn veterans before moving to Murrayfield as venue of choice for Tynecastle, but as noted, since the refurb the queuing at the tiny serving area is absolutly chronic, and The Roseburn with their efficient and plentiful bar staff is back in favour.

The Hampton don't allow football colours, as I found out to my cost last season.

Done that a few timea before.

Always preferred The Murrayfield, mainly because you could stand outside, but since the refurb it's not been the same. Might try and get up to the Roseburn early tomorrow, see how I feel about getting out of bed when the alarm goes off.
