As someone who grew up watching WWF in the early 90's, I was hooked watching 'The Resurrection of Jake the Snake' on Netflix. I had been totally unaware of the issues he has had as well as many other ex pro wrestlers.

    Well worth a watch.

Just watched 3 1/2 Minutes, Ten Bullets on Netflix. Absolutely brilliant documentary about a young black kid murdered by a middle aged white guy. It's goes through the whole trial as well as some heart rendering interviews with all involved. Puts Americas gun laws on trial. Shocking stuff.

I haven't seen this one mentioned. It's about 2 young lads from Dundee trying to make it in the industry as rappers, but they get laughed out of the room as the 'rapping Proclaimers, so they decide to pretend to be American, and then it gets interesting. Highly enjoyable.

Africans in America: America's journey through slavery.

It's a four part documentary on YouTube of the North American element of the transatlantic slave trade starting at the very beginning, which involves the first settlements. I've just watched the third episode after knowing very little about the whole subject and it's a real eye opener. The frustration you feel is only matched by the contradictions of people who wrote that "all men are created equal".

It's really long and not for those without a lot of time on their hands but mans inhumanity towards his fellow man in the new world fascinates me for some reason. Maybe because it's glossed over with things like Columbus Day etc...

I watched 3 ½ Minutes, Ten Bullets on Netflix earlier.

Really enjoyed it, but it was up there with Making a Murderer for making me rage at the TV.

Florida's stand your ground law is unreal.

13th it's a documentary about the 13th amendment and how the US have used it to pretty much ensure that slavery continues through the prison system, it's a hard watch at time but the best thing I've seen in ages, it's new to netflix if anyone wants to watch it

The most eye opening documentary I've ever seen is Swansea Love Story by VICE. It's on YouTube.

Watched a couple of brilliant documentaries on Netflix recently. Jim: The James Foley Story is fantastic. Tells the story of the life of Foley, who was a photographic journalist captured by Islamic State in 2014 and publicly beheaded.

Diving Into The Unknown. After a tragic accident that leaves two cave divers dead the four survivors return to the caves to recover their body's as the authorities deem it too much of a risk to do so. Incredible stuff.

I'm going back a long time to a series I was absolutely enthralled with called Bodyline.
it was the story of the 1932 (IIRC) ashes test series where the English bowlers adopted a then unseen aggressive tactic against Don Bradman particularly but the entire Australian team.

i have no love of cricket and would watch anything else other than cricket on the telly, but this was a superb story and if it's still out there somewhere to see then I'd thoroughly recommend it.

I remember a series about bodyline was more of a drama I remember probably 30 years + ago.

I like this short illustration of the James T Webb Space Telescope being deployed. There are other documentaries explaining the science behind this telescope which is a next step after the Hubble. I met a guy who works on it as an electrical engineer and funnily enough it was at an LA Galaxy game. Hopefully the launch will be successful when they finish building it.

Bang Bang in da Manor, Independent film about gang violence in London. Powerful. Slightly annoying only the first two parts on YouTube, was on bbc3 in its entirety recently.

Counter punch on Netflix is realy good. Follows three boxers in America who are at different stages of their careers and is filmed over two years. I've only got a minimal interest in the sport, but it was fascinating to see them trying to achieve their varied goals in the sport.
