Always enjoyed Endless Summer, even with the volume down it can make a nice background.
Also the Ramones doc (forget the name of it)

Been watching a few documentaries recently with a few standing out.

just this minute finished watching The Internets own boy... The story of Aaron Swartz. Really good watch.
Kids for cash is another very good film. About a juvenile court judge who hands out harsh sentences for minor offences.
However the best one I watched was All this Mayhem. About 2 brothers who make it in pro skateboarding before hitting the self destruct button. I'm not a big fan of skateboarding, never really was, but this film is riveting.
Watched All This Mayhem the other night, cracking watch, remember seeing those brothers at The X games on TV when I was younger, had no idea of their story, wow.

I actually started watching it thinking, "just another skateboard documentary."
How wrong I was!! As you quite rightly say... WOW!
Tony Hawk doesn't really come across too well in it though.

If anyone is looking for a football documentary I'd highly recommend next goal wins.

Watched The Seven Five recently. It's about an corrupt cop working the 75th Precinct of the NYPD in the 1980's, was worth a look.

Watching Horizon: Do you know what time it is? Brian Cox trying to explain what time is, how we move through it, and loads of other questions re time.... My head is pickled!!!

The Act of Killing is a gripping watch.

I like the storyville series on BBC. Episodes I'd recommend are-

The one about the magician James Randi.

    One based on Himmler's letters.

    K2 climbing disaster.

One about a Serbian managing the South Sudan national team

Just watched it, would recommend it you like real life crime stories. New York was a scary place late 80s and early 90s.

Just watched The Battered *******s of Baseball.

About Bing Russell, Kurt's auld man, taking over his local independent team in Portland and the success and struggles with the baseball authorities. Absolutely magnificent. A guy who done it for the love of the sport.

Been watching The Catch on Channel 4, not quite the same vein as some mentioned here, but it's excellent.

Finished watching Nazi Collabators on Yesterday which featured Anton Gecas who died in Edinburgh a few years ago, the number of Jewish deaths he was associated with is astounding.

Oddly enough he ended up receiving a medal from Britain for fighting in Italy towards the end of the war.

Great insight into a profession which is very important to the nation, but one that not too many of us know a whole lot about.

Agreed - just watched it too.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"
