Sorry guys I'm new to the board.
Is this thread for what you think the team WILL be or what you think it SHOULD be?

    cheers
    Either.

Post 2 teams if you want to, the one you want and the one you think it should be.

Och, you know what I mean!
I do, still miffed that Booth was dropped for the Alloa game and it still shows with my cutting remark I'm afraid.

Do you think he'll be back in for the Cowdenbeath game?

We'll be lucky to win with that 1st team, Heffernan should be nowhere near the side and Handling/Harris are far too inconsistant.

Both of you have omitted Fontaine, are you not impressed with him or do you think he's not up to speed yet?
Wouldn't say I've been unimpressed however hasn't done anything to warrant keeping Hanlon out the team as he is out best defender.

Forster was driving force behind Dumbarton turnaround and one of the few who was busting a gut against Alloa. That coupled with his goal threat and the fact he is right footed is why he gets in ahead of Fontaine in my team.

Nish was forsters man in the Dumbarton game and it was nish who created both their goals with headers in the box.

I think you're giving him too much credit for his role in that game.

A lot of people have picked McGeouch and Allan to sit in front of the back 4 in a 4-2-3-1 style, but they're both attack-minded players. I'd have Robertson in there instead, not on form because he's been pretty rank recently but because it suits him more than the other 2.

That being said, i'd be going for a 4-4-2 of:

    Oxley

    Gray
    Hanlon
Forster/Fontaine (haven't seen Fontaine yet so undecided)
    Booth

    McGeouch
    Stanton
    Allan
    Kennedy

    Malonga
    Cummings

Still lacks bite in the middle but plenty creativity... on paper.

    Opinions?
    Personally would like to see

    Oxley

    Gray fontaine hanlon stevenson

    Allan mcgeouch

    Harris. Stanton. Kennedy

    Malonga

However unsure if Hanlon is fit or Stevenson is still suspended(think he is) if that's the case Forster and booth come in.

Main thing that concerns me is we don't have a centre mid who their main role is defending? All of them there main game is attacking so it would be risky going with my centre mid pairing.

Just a thought what about Forster playing a defensive mid role? I'm not one for playing players out of position but I think he could do it as he is comfortable on the ball, good at defending and is a strong athlete

    No.

3-0 Hibs. This won't be the team however, no Craig or Robertson listed and reckon at least one of them will start ahead of Stanton.

    Yes.

    Allan

Reason no new boys start? Because I've not seen them play so can't say for sure they're any better than what we have. I hope they are!

Some good combinations but don't want Craig anywhere near the team however know fine well that the club Capt will prob be first on the team sheet.

This will probably not be popular but why not play Lewis in front of back 4 and play 4-1-4-1

    Oxley
    Gray (Capt) Fontaine Hanlon Booth
    Lewis
    Harris Allan McGeoch Kennedy
    Malonga

    Just a thought

im no AS but this is my team to get us going back up the table

    fitness and injuries will decide,
    playing a 3-4-1-2

    Oxley

    Forster Hanlon Fontaine

    Gray McGeough Craig Kennedy

    Stanton
    Malonga Sinclair
No doubt it will be totally wrong
Hopefully whatever the team is its a winning 1. at least now AS can finally play a team that he can say is his TEAM....

Was thinking exactly the same formation and line up something different and with good atracking options whilst still being reasonably solid at the back

Fancy a goal feast against Cowdenbeath on Saturday. Let's face it, they're not up to much, are they?

  24. #53
    Assuming fit it will be.

Everyone to their own but why have McGeough and Allan sitting in front of the back four?

Two creative players and you want them as defensive midfielders.

McGeough is seemingly buzzing in training and may get a start, Sinclair was one of the better players in the last u20 game and Allan has been one of our better performers the past 2-3 games.

Craig yes but I'd play Stevenson in the DM role which would free up the creative players and allow them to push forward but since Craig scored 2 in the bounce game, he will probably play him as he's the captain
