Given our non-performances on the pitch just now, I'd actually be concerned for Griffiths about whether he can live up to the expectations that he can be our messiah.

And if he does, how long before some hoofball pub team decides to crock him?

Leigh Griffiths isn't a miracle worker. Even if by some miracle he came back to Hibs, it's ridiculous to think or expect that he can carry this squad of non performing players on his back, yet again.

How often has it been said in the past that it often doesn't work out for a player when he returns to a former club?

Don't get me wrong, I would welcome LG back, but a reality check is needed too.

The only way I can see out of the mess this club is in on the pitch is through major investment in the playing squad. The problem with that is there is no money available for such major investment, otherwise why did the club only sign the players it did, along with the now familiar loan signings?

The financial situation is only going to get worse as more and more fans call it a day (some perhaps to be lost permanently).

The current owner is not going to say to LD or AS... "how would you like two or three million pounds in January to fund the signing and wages of 3 or 4 really top pros?"

Maybe now all the doubting thomases that say he'd be daft to leave SPL and European football will realise this is actually a good move for him because right now he's not playing at all and that will hurt his career worse than playing and scoring regularly for a lower league team.

I actually believe this is one thing we can't criticise the board for they have tried all they can to get him to us......as said a surprise is on the cards!

Perhaps but can't the board at least make a wee bit of a fuss about it? morale amongst supporters at an all time low and we need to know the board are at least trying, not just LG but 2 new central defenders as well please...
