The final Grand Slam of the 2014 tennis season starts in New York tomorrow.
It could be quite an open tournament as well.
Rafael Nadal has pulled out through injury, Andy Murray hasn't won a tournament in almost 14 months and Novak Djokovic has only won two matches since winning Wimbledon almost two months ago.
In many ways, the favourite going into the tournament could be a certain Roger Federer.
In the absence of Nadal, he will be the second seed for the tournament. He also won last week in Cincinnati and the week before in Toronto he got to the final. He is also a five times champion at Flushing Meadows so he is certainly in with a shout of lifting the title in a couple of weeks.
As far as tomorrow's schedule is concerned, Andy Murray starts against Robin Haase and his match is due to start at around 5:30pm. He comes in as the eighth seed, which is his lowest seeding at a Grand Slam since Wimbledon 2008.
He is due to play Djokovic in the quarter finals, if all goes to plan, and he starts his first round match at around 2am on Tuesday morning.
Murray is the only British male in the main draw after James Ward failed to come through qualifying but there are two British women in Heather Watson and Johanna Konta.
Live coverage throughout the tournament is on Sky Sports 3.

Agnieszka Radwanska raced through her match so Murray is starting a bit earlier than expected.
Warm up just starting now.

Fair play to Murray, showed some balls to get through that.

No idea how Murray managed to win that!
I missed the first two sets but he was clearly in a lot of physical discomfort throughout that third set and most of the fourth set as well.
He was really annoyed with his physical shape afterwards as it was apparently down to cramp, which really shouldn't be happening.
Just glad he got through it though and is into the second round.
He would have expected to play Radek Stepanek next but instead he will play the German qualifier, Matthias Bachinger, who beat Stepanek in straight sets.
He really ought to win that quite easily.

Julien Benneteau and Mikhail Youzhny are the only two seeds to go out on day one so far.
Benneteau lost to fellow Frenchman Benoit Paire, whilst Youzhny lost to Rafael Nadal's conqueror at Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Stanislas Wawrinka have joined Andy Murray in the second round.

Andy Murray is the sole representative from Britain after only two days.
Heather Watson was hammered 6-1 6-1 by Sorana Cirstea and Johanna Konta lost 6-2 6-3 yesterday to Shahar Pe'er.
Murray will have two days' rest as he doesn't play his second round match until Thursday.

Thought Murray was today. Hope the break helps his recovery from the cramps

Hopefully we don't see a repeat of that. It was a bit worrying to see him barely able to move after about an hour and a half on Monday. I don't think that he was able to explain it either.
He shouldn't have any trouble reaching the third round though. I really can't see Matthias Bachinger causing him any problems.

Solid display so far by Murray.
Two sets up and 4-3 up in the third.
If he gets through tonight, he'll play Andrey Kuznetsov in the third round after he beat Fernando Verdasco.

Murray wins 6-3 6-3 6-4.
Good result and performance and none of the drama of the other night against Haase.
Bed time!

Just a heads up for anyone who's interested - Andy Murray will be on later today at about 6pm against Andrey Kuznetsov.
The highest seed to go out so far in the men's draw is Ernests Gulbis, who lost after being two sets up against the highly rated Dominic Thiem.
In the women's draw, there have been lots of top seeds who have gone out so far.
Simona Halep, Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber and Ana Ivanovic are all top ten seeds who have been eliminated in the first three rounds.
However, one player who is still there is a certain Serena Williams.

Murray wins 6-1 7-5 4-6 6-2.
He plays either Jo-Wilfried Tsonga or Pablo Carreno Busta in the last 16.

Murray will play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga tomorrow in the last 16 after he beat Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets.
If Murray's to go any further then he'll have to do something that he hasn't done since the final of Wimbledon last year and beat a top 10 player.
Really think that this match could be touch and go.

Novak in the quarters seems a very tough draw though obviously being 10 in the World means his draws are much tougher than previously.

Terrible scheduling for tomorrow night from a British perspective.
Murray's match against Djokovic is the second night match tomorrow, meaning he's unlikely to be on much before 2am on Thursday, British time.
Awful.
Along with Tsonga, three other top ten players have fallen already.
David Ferrer lost to Gilles Simon, Milos Raonic lost to Kei Nishikori and Grigor Dimitrov lost to Gael Monfils.

No-one watching the tournament this year?
Great match on just now between Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori.
Nishikori is two sets to one up and it's 3-3 in the fourth set.
Anyone planning on staying up late for the Murray match at 2am?

Nishikori wins 3-6 7-5 7-6 6-7 6-4 in just over 4 hours.
Superb entertainment.
Nishikori is into the semis of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career and will play either Murray or Djokovic on Saturday.

As expected, Novak Djokovic beat Andy Murray in the early hours this morning.
The first couple of sets were split but Murray admitted afterwards that Djokovic was physically stronger as the match wore on and he will go on to play Kei Nishikori in the semis on Saturday.
Marin Cilic has just become the third player into the semi finals after beating Tomas Berdych in straight sets.
He'll face the winner of the match between Roger Federer and Gael Monfils, which is being played later on tonight around 1am.

Couldn't stay up to watch it but what a comeback by Roger Federer to beat Gael Monfils in five sets.
Federer fought off two match points to win 4-6 3-6 6-4 7-5 6-2 and set up a semi final with Marin Cilic on Saturday.
Really wish the match had been on at an earlier time.
Did you manage to stay up PB?

Was pretty worried for my bet at a few times. One of the amazing things watching Federer was how cool he stayed under pressure. Even with the match points against him he just kept doing what he wanted to do and said in his after match interview even in such a perilous position he still felt confident.PM Awards General Poster of The Year 2015, 2016, 2017.
