How on earth can anyone still believe Butcher could turn this club around. He took a team that were mid table mediocrity to relegation fodder bereft of confidence and resorting to hoofball coupled with dreadful man management skills. He had chance after chance towards the end of the season to get the necessary points to keep us in the top division and failed at every turn. His assistant appeared to be more interested in exchanging obscenities with supporters instead of concentrating on getting a winning team on the park.

If Butcher was still our manager I'd be putting my mortgage on not getting out of the Championship next season.

I think there needs to be a wee bit of understanding of the position the club may be in if for example say Stubb's assistant who initially said he would come decides he doesn't want to come. Sometimes these sort of negotiations can take time especially if Stubbs agent is at WC. I am sure in the next day or so some announcement will be made one way or the other. It would be wrong for the club to be making an announcement on what if's.

I don't understand why folk get worked up because a paper or poster says there will be an announcement on xday and it doesn't happen. If you get annoyed at the club after a paper or poster gets it wrong, you're directing your annoyance at the wrong place.

The club will announce news when it actually happens - no speculation, no bull****. I really don't want to see the club wasting wages on putting pointless updates like "The process continues" on the website though.

I know and I'm as frustrated as the next person, but official statements about grass growing don't really interest me either. I think that LD is savvy enough to know the need for positive news.

I'd be very surprised if there's an announcement today, and I'm not even totally convinced that Stubbs is going to be the manager, all the stuff regarding him getting the managers job is pure speculation as far as I can see.

Why would Hibs tell a random person who phoned up something that has yet to be officially announced? Even telling you when an announcement will be made is, in essence, confirming the appointment. Someone has also put a picture of Stubbs at EM on another thread so it looks like it is happening!

It is still my opinion that HIbs conduct their business properly. Announcements are made when there is something to actually announce. Anything in between, such as Hibs are still in the process of recruiting a manager would definitely be met with cries wondering why the hell they bother. Even if and even when Stubbs is announced there will be posts, and I could probably name some of those who will do it, saying why bother telling us something we already knew? Why is the Hibs site always so far behind the papers? Announcements will be made when there is something to announce. Patience is a virtue, be virtuous.

Do people actually do that ? Call Hibs to ask for press and PR plans ...jeez, I think Hibs should share a summary of the enquiries they get - I bet it would be a magnificent fun read !
