The Club - Reality Checks Needed. Direction Needed. Leadership Needed.

*Obviously exasperated with the current situation at the club.

Abramovich to American consortium and all the othe pish rumors in between are indicative of how far in the fog our Club has become. We are a ship with no Captain.

No new money is coming into the Club. Nobody is going to save us and the worst thing is I feel we're being ran not much better than a pub team at the moment!

The Club needs one cook! One out right boss at the top with whom everyone else at the club shares a vision from top to the very bottom.

I believe that vision has to be youth development, because we have no money. Everything at the club should be geared towards it and we need a manager who believes in that footballing philosophy. Let's make Hibs the Ajax of Scottish football.

Now obviously I realise youth development is a part of the club but I think that is all we should be about. local lads developed into a first team from 1 to 11.

    * The reality is Scottish football has no money. I think we look over the boarder at England and still try and approach our football as they do but we can't! The epl is the richest league in the world. Scottish clubs should approach football solely from a developmental aspect (with rare exception), otherwise we won't get any success.

I'm just sick of the lack of direction at the club, like a dog chasing it's tale. Perhaps I'm simply ranting out of frustration but the club will never get anywhere if it continues without drastic change.

I hope the management read this and realise we need change. Hopefully they do it with a few less metaphors though.

Your "ranting" as you put it almost exactly describes what Leeann Dempster is now trying to address

You'll be disappointed if you're expecting massive changes after our new CEO has been in post for little over a week.

This is what you get when you have an owner who is not interested in football employing an accountant to look after his investment in his absence, malaise, lack of direction, fan's treated with contempt

Can I say I believe youth policy is the way to go too. However I also feel that we should still look to find gems from elsewhere too. As a fan ( I feel and it's only my opinion ) that we should only play Scottish home grown talent if they are good enough.

I don't think we should bring the level of expectations and skill level down to the level that we may be able to produce. We should only play a player if they are at a level that is the best we can get for that position. If we can buy one I'n can afford him then I believe we should buy.

However we just had a team who one the league and yet the left back and right back ( who I have read on Hibs net have been outstanding ) have not been given a chance. So obviously if we do go down this path and it has served us well with some good players coming through our ranks, we will need a manager who will give them a chance.
