Who's everyone going for then?
Jason Day/ McIlroy/ Dustin Johnson for me, although Johnson currently making a mess in Texas!
Also gutted that Tiger isn't playing to be honest.

Not gutted about Tiger at all tbh.
Fancy Rory to do it this year.Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, vodka in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!"

I know someone who is going and I've made a special request for a Masters polo shirt - in green of course!

I reckon Adam Scott will defend his title. He has been a standout performer in the majors in recent years, if he putts well he will come close.
Jason Day, good shout but depends on his thumb and back injuries. He says he is fit and raring to go so hopefully he has put that behind him. Another star performer in the majors.
Matt Kuchar played well last week and will be in the mix too.
Colin Hendry lookalike Brandt Snedeker likes the Masters, hes had an average year so far but wouldn't put it past him to be a contender this week.
A debutant hasn't won at Augusta since Fuzzy Zoeller in 1979, could Jordan Spieth bust that particular stat this year? Guy is a class act, might be worth an each way bet.
And finally, will someone finally win the Par 3 competition and Green Jacket in the same year?

A girl at my work won first prize at our suppliers day draw the other week, then had the winner in the sweep for the grand national.
I took the top 60 players (by odds on Skybet) and put them in a random list in Excel, asked her to pick three numbers.
She picked 24, 5 and 18.
24 - Adam Scott
5 - Brendon De Jonge
18 - Jason Day
Thats where my money is going. Come on Brendon De Jonge!

Looked at mostly each way bets.
Both Gary Woodland and Patrick Reed are young and have been playing well, both with high decent odds and experience of Augusta. Taken them each way.
Big fan of Sneds, and again he has shown he knows his way round the course.
Also looked at Jamie Donaldson to finish the top ranked European
Kaymer as well at 100/1 each way

Big Phil (14/1), Jason Day (16/1), and probably the best young player on the PGA tour - Jordan Speith (40/1)
As ever, I'm really looking forward to the TV coverage of what is arguably the best Major of the year.Last edited by Golden Bear; 10-04-2014 at 06:38 PM.

£5 E/W on -
16/1 Jason Day
33/1 Charl Swartzel
60/1 Angel Cabrera (Never seems to play but always turns up in the Masters)
100/1 Victor Dubisson
Plus £10 E/W on Adam Scott (10/1) from a couple of weeks back when I was drunk.

Poor start for Zach Johnson, know a few who were backing him, still a long way to go but not a great first round! Nice start for Stephen Gallacher!

Would like to see Bubba win it again, one of the great characters in golf at the moment.

I won a packet on Bubba two years ago. Why I didn't back him this time I'll never know.
I have Furyk at 80/1 and Zach Johnson at 33/1. Another twenty quid down the drain.
Personally, I think Oosty looks good this time. Great player.

For whatever reason the Tournament has still to come to life and TV coverage has all been a bit flat so far. Hopefully the Beeb will provide the necessary spark over the weekend.

Anyone but Watson for me, have a strange dislike for him. Would like to see Speoth win, dunno whether he has the mental game though

I'm beginning to think my Furyk hunch could be a winner. They never mention him much because he's an unglamorous type but he just keeps plugging away.
