Very surprising breaking news story today with Andy Murray announcing that he has split with coach Ivan Lendl.

It seems to have been a very amicable split as they are both speaking about each other in very glowing terms.

Lendl oversaw the most successful period of Murray's career, coaching him to two major titles at the US Open and Wimbledon and also a gold medal at last year's Olympics.

They seemed like a perfect fit for each other. They both seemed to share the same sense of humour and Murray really respected what Lendl had done in the game.

It remains to be seen who Murray will turn to next but it will be a very important decision for him. He plays in Miami in a few days before the European clay court season begins next month. Considering his poor run of form so far this season, it will need to be the right one for him to get him back to winning ways as soon as possible.
