Tel comment "up tempo training" sustained results, captain.

BBC Radio Scotland. "The players now no that the training will be up tempo"... or something sim he said. Eh, shouldn't it always be . ????
p.s. Sustained results Tel , prob have to take a bad one here and there . Not a great score against Ross, then back to square one.( as usual).
    p.p.s. Can we get a captain ?

what he probably means is "we're hammering them in training"...

Question with regards to players, Do they really give a damn?

Its' their job and they get paid quite handsomely for it. They are fit and healthy.
Does it ruin their weekends as well?

Sure, some players want to go onto better things and will strive to play well & there's certain bonuses players might miss out on if results are mince... and winners medals, ha bloody ha,

So - do they really give a schit ?

To be fair, you can't expect them to expense all of their energy in a weekend game. They've got to preserve some of their stamina for George Street later on.

I think they care , the problem is half of them just aren't good enough.

What would you do on a Saturday night as a red blooded young male with some money in your back pocket?? Yoga on a saturday night whilst doing some extra wooooo-sa curriculum? Didn't think so...what is this infatuation with Hibs players not being allowed out to socialise?

As a professional footballer I certainly wouldn't be going out drinking.

Steven Whittaker is a classic example of the benefits of choosing that path but everyone is different - just get a bit tired of this George St obsession. Giving up so many temptations as young men must be a lot harder than it is made out to be....anyone who wants to be a top athlete and be the best they can be would obviously have to make all the right choices but not everyone is like that.....perhaps those Hibs players who don't go out and about are at home with two bottles of wine and a Chicken Jalfrezi and stay up until 4am on their X-box?!

Very good point. The sedentary indoor culture which has an unseen grip on all levels of our national culture, is probably far more damaging than the odd raucous public blow out in George Street.

Really?? I was fixtures and fittings there for a long, long time but never saw him....fair enough tho', guess everyone has their vices!! Mines cost me a lot of money....a pot noodle and a porno mag from the shell garage was about all I had to show for 5hrs at the Maybury at the end of the night

Pat Fenlon used to regularly reassure us that training had been "at a good tempo". I always assumed he meant up tempo. But maybe Pat thought down tempo training was better?

If that's the case then that is taking the proverbial....I always thought mention of George St was restricted to a Saturday night session after a 3pm kick-off!!

After the game last night for a while. Off today and back Thursday afternoon. Don't see the problem and I'm sure if there was any doubt butcher never wanted them too then they wouldn't.

I seem to remember the Rangers squad that Buthcer was in were known for their regular drinking sessions, and an incredible number of trophies.
